As much as I liked Batman and Green Lantern when I was young I always had a hard time liking Superman, he's just too much and without any decent weakness (Kryptonite is a lame excuse for a weakness). Spider-Man was always my favorite though, he's got powers but he's also brilliant (comics version is at least). He's also got a life to deal with and can be hurt and killed, but what makes him the best for me is that taunting habit of making fun of his opponents while fighting 'em.

For that and because the universe in a whole always seemed more interesting to me .. I'm Marvel.

On a side note.. if you read Spider-Man.. what do you think of the whole Doc Oc takes over Spidey storyline. Personally I can't wait for them to get rid of that ass and bring back good ol' Petey in his body, I miss his humor.

Marvel fan. I like more the Heroes/Villains, storylines compare to DC.
Also, the funniest stories I have ever read are with Asterix (European comic)

I prefer Marvel, thanks to the X-Men.

Doc Ock: I think the current storyline is great. He does everything as he still were Doc Ock (lair, minions), but he is working for the good :) And I'm sure that we won't see Peter for a while - but we will have Miles Morales instead of him.

I'm more of a marvel person myself. I didn't like all the heroes either (like the Hulk, didn't like him)
My favorite is probably Iron man.

On a side note, spider-man was originally a Marvel hero too ;)

Marvel, aside from Nightwing, Batman, and Watchmen, there simply wasn't really any other DC comics that I felt interested. Everyone in the DC universe just felt too overpowered whereas every Marvel character has some huge flaw regardless of their strength

+1 Although DC has better villains.

except for wolverine, the hulk, deadpool, thanos, galactus, they are all crazy overpowered where as in dc all the heroes have at least a few substantial weaknesses. That isn't to say that dc didn't have some crazy powerful characters at some point, like the first appearance of the anti-monitor, but im just pointing out that marvel's universe as a whole has higher power than dc.
Oh, and don't get me started on Thor.

I need to read more DC myself, which in turn gives me an unfair bias towards marvel.
I have to say that Image Comics have been releasing alot of good reads though - East of West being a good one

Favorite writer : Paul Jenkins

Favorite Character : Penance and/or Sentry

dc has been pretty dumb lately but I grew up on their 90s cartoons so I'll have to go with them.

Justice League was a fantastic cartoon. Every time Bruce Wayne communicates with an alternate reality Bruce Wayne, id get giddy with excitement.

Marvel. I've always preferred "human" conflicts over "alien" conflicts (which is my basic-ized view of the two universes).

If I was Marvel or DC I would be too busy rolling in money to type here. :P

Heh, anyway, when it comes to the comics themselves- neither. Because I don't read comics. ^_^
I have however read about comics and from what I gathered, I don't wanna ever start reading the comics themselves. Too many retcons, bullshit plots and bullshit in general (that Doc Oc thing you mentioned would probably be a good example). Heck, even manga make more sense than them sometimes. :D

If I'd have to pick one though, it'd probably be Marvel only because they have more cartoons from my childhood than DC. Hell, apart from the occasional Batman related series I don't even remember anything else DC based. Meanwhile Marvel had Spiderman, Hulk, Fantastic Four, the X-Men and probably others all over TV. Since most of them were made to appeal to kids, they had less nonsense plots in them than the comics too. So, I'd pick (not be, that would be silly) Marvel. ;)

I prefer the DC archetypes, but I haven't read a comic from DC that I thought was well written in a long, long time. So, Marvel.
