You think
Don't know about dead, but yes, certainly badly injured from all the changes in policies and general flood of crapspam.
I'm at 21 pages myself, but I don't hide anything unless it's something I already own. At least... that was the case. I finally broke down and clicked Hide on those stupid Trivia games. I don't know how many that included, but my hidden games total (because SG/SteamAPI would still show them, even while I owned them, mostly DLC) is now at 1,091.
Would be nice if I could have two "hide" options. 1) Hide because I own it, or 2) Hide because it's a pile of crap. ...and then, yeah... I don't know if I'd even be at four pages.
I do miss the really good events. But there are still decent puzzles around, and lots of trains running pretty much all the time. I've got a cakeday coming up in about two weeks... hopefully I'll have my own thing ready by then.
And I'm still optimistic in my cynicism, so I voted for the strawberries with cream. :) The flood of crapspam seems to have been somewhat recognized as something plaguing the industry in general, and so I feel like there will be more measures put in place to prevent such games stealing visibility over the next few years. It's probably somewhat tough to do that inexpensively while still allowing indies a fair shot though.

lol, no. HB was trending downward steadily since the advent of the monthly subscription. Also, when IGN took over, HB stated that they already had locked in the bundles for the rest of the business year.
Not saying IGN is saintly at all, but there's no need to cast false blame.

Most of what's inflating the number of giveaways is all the 4 week ones, lol. Site looks pretty bad for me too, I joined half a year ago, gave away a lot of really good games hoping I'd get some goodies back when I got my level up, never really happened. I guess that's how the site's gonna keep going.

Be it now or in the past, considering giveaways as an investment has always lead to disappointment

Hmm, okay, I guess.
Personally I had to go 6 pages deep to see giveaways that will last up to 18 hours. So probably around 20 pages at least.
But yeah, over time, after years of getting more stuff, there have been less giveaways and that has nothing to even do with not having a Humble Bundle in the last month and a half. For me it just reduced gradually anyways, because that's the market we have. For me there's just as much stuff as before though compared to other "dry periods".

Hey, I did a 345-key train last week. Don't blame me. 😜😁🙃

there were a two or more bundled monthlies so it's still a risk for cv farmers.
I'm still in favor of SGtools, made entering for bots and abusers (before I had always few wins from people who never activated won game) harder and people can make GAs for people they think deserve and that's their money so let them decide even if those are not for me to enter

there are various people with various predispositions, eg. I'd never be able to have non-flexible hours job or I'm not a material for a company owner but there are people made for that.
And I very rarely comment or make threads (made only a few in 5 years) but I'm forum lurking almost every day. I'd propably never made an event but I've joined quite a few. I could make much more GAs with unused keys but I don't have time for clicking. People are different, not necessaarily bad or lazy.
This thread is not just about crying, it's kind of a clickbait and maybe it will influence 1-2 members to make something interesting

Like you many passive lurkers who like events would join them if someone just bothers to start them with a thread. Personally I don't see much point in them so I wont be doing it. It's so liberating to not care one bit about what I win or if I win anything at all so I can focus on using SG for it's real purpose, giving away stuff to see the numbers rise. :)

I have to go days into the future to lose a reasonable amount of my acquired daily points... the older system kept it more in balance for me with that as well... I almost always go back to 400P these days for those various stated reasons, and I'm a pretty heavy duty leecher here as far as hoarding collecting goes. There used to be much more variety (including my own giveaways)... so it's kinda sad with all the oppression with gifting these days. T.T

Well, kind of. Thanks to no HB bundles and steam gift policy I see only 4 pages of giveaways and when I filter group GAs those are for one page so only 3 for public. Yeah I know, propably there are people with only 1 :)
Forum awesome celebrations are dead because of gift policy and no more awesome events like Let's train or Steamgifts Hunger Games
This remind me of SG simultanous event when there were about 10 pages of GAs only for that group :)
Just don't get me wrong there are still hundreds of awesome people here and worthy discussions in forum, propably I'm just old, bored and exhausted because of temperature
So have a the only thing you come in here. There are bunch of various lvl GAs with simple SG Tools filter
edit: one more i forgot to add because I'm old Albert Mort - Desert Heat
