Hello guys and gals,

Next month is a special birthday for me as something personal is going to happen on that day.
i'm not going to tell what but its pretty awesome for me.
Anyway, i would like to say that i'm not a guy who goes around spamming thanks on every giveaway i enter as i believe thats just bull.
I wouldn't want everyone to say thanks when i'm giving away, as long as the winner does it after recieving its oke.
But to show that i'm really no "leech" or whatever kids call people like me these days i came up with this plan.
I hope you guys will like it.

December being a holiday month for everyone, but i will up the stakes.
I will create a group next month with a max cap of 31 people.
31 Games will be given away(i will buy them as soon as i know wich one i want to give)
There will be some decent games, awesome ones and a few "lesser" indie games(sometimes indie can prove even better)
so 1 december i start the give aways but when you win one, you get kicked out of the group.
Everyone in the group will win a game eventually :)

As i said 31 days = 31 people but i reserve 6 slots to people i know IRL and to the ones from wich i recieved a gift after winning a giveaway :)

So basicly i will invite 25people in the group.
I would love some feedback on this idea and also some ideas about how to select the "25" :)

Remember: DONT be greedy :)

EDIT: The one that provides me with the ultimate idea for choosing the 25 people will be invited as one of my "6"

Sounds great, I respect what you're doing there.
Personally I too wanted to create few giveaways after I win something but then I decided to start adding games and well leave the rest to luck.

I have no ideas on how to pick people however I sure would like to be in that group, but will leave it all up to you and cross my fingers ^_^

Happy early Birthday/Holidays :) I'm with the people that say you should randomly choose. It gives everyone who wants to join an equal chance and that way nothing will be influencing the choice. Also, people getting a prize randomly is even better because who doesn't love suprises?

It would depend on who you would want into the group- 25 people from all of Steamgifts, a steam group, a FB group, etc, But why not set up a group.
Of course, you can always just hype this thread to get a lot of people to comment, etc, close the thread, and then invite every (let's say 5th) person depending on how many commenters (1 count per person), which is based on the numbero f commenters divided by 25~ or however many people you need.

Happy future birthday, maybe choose people who come up with the most unique, random, funny comment?

Nice idea and an experience for the lucky people who get to be a part of this. If you don't want to stick to one method of choosing the 25 people, you could use different methods. Maybe five people by random draw, five by a quiz in steam group chat room, five from a forum puzzle etc. Variety so different kind of people get in. I really liked Razuto22 suggestion. Thumbs up to that.

Do a tournament like Don Vino did. Except end it after 25 remain.

That is an amazing idea. Not only festive but I am not sure it is ever been done before.

I say it included the years of service badge on steam.

It should be trivia questions via Steam Chat. There should be questions that don't relate to video games, so it makes it harder for the people. Therefore this trivia game would be based on prior knowledge or people's fast internet skills with Google. And I wouldn't forget...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMNESIA85!!!

Awesome idea.

I'd say, invite people with lots of entries but low wins. Check their steam profile and see if they re-gifted anything or activated ALL the games they won.

Happy birthday !

To pick the 25 make everyone who wants to be in it in a certain chat and say I
Make sure no one double entered and use that cash machine with the lever ect. Till yo get 25 :)

Just create a steam group by now and invite as many people as you want - after a month you will know who you want to remain in the group for the giveaway and who not.

cool idea, but it looks difficult to choose who deserve to be in the group. u'll have a long time checking ot of profiles i guess :D but i believe you shouldnt do like "they must be over X contributor, over X comment, less X win and so on" , go with your feelings mate :9 happy hunting and again, cool idea :D

You should do a puzzle and a challange at the end. Make the Puzzle in more than 3 parts (6 would be really awesome and hard) and make them hard! One of them should deffinetly be a Screenshot puzzle (i just love screenshot puzzles XD)! Then give the forum 10 days or something like that to solve the puzzles and complete the challange. The challange is for a free2play game from steam of your choice( so that everyone can try it) and it's about getting speciffic achievements. The first 25 to do everything go in the group.
edit: the Game name and the achievements will be at the end of the last puzzle ofcorse.
I think that it would be an awesome and fun race to the end. All the brainstorming at the puzzles and then the achievements. :D I would love to do something like that! XD

Great idea, I'd advise you to keep the "worst" game for the 31st of December so that the guy who will be always waiting for a better game will feel really awkward ;)

Anyway, for choosing the 25 I thought about game tournament (various F2P games) but I think this would be quite a challenge, I don't think puzzles are really fair. Maybe pun face off? Although it would put native English speakers in a huge advantage.
I'd probably challenge people to make me laugh, first/best 25 would be invited.
Oh, another idea: not really random but still, you think of a number, we guess it, but to keep things more interesting, everyone that overshoots looses, Blackjack in a way.

Probably not going to see but whatever, Imo you could do challenges like in cs gb or whichever game you see fit. Nothing too hard but to make the days fun for the people getting the gifts.

Nice and original idea, sounds fun...you could call it the Steam Claus Group :-P
I'm wondering what your achievement(Damn XBOX, now this sounds weird to me every time I say it) is though...

Why not do five intakes of five. That way you could have a bit of everyone per say, some people suck at puzzles but excel at drawing.
A few possible ideas could be: Draw a picture, tell a story, make a puzzle to solve, high score on a game/s you choose top five get in, a scavenger hunt of some sort, cos play dress up. and I'm sure there could be plenty pf other ideas
