Marble Hornets was extremely good, it genuinely creeped me out more than most horror things will. I watched to about Entry 45 or so, it was still pretty good but I stopped watching because they weren't really sure what to do with the channel at that point. There are some mild jump scares, but I don't remember any that are accompanied with loud noises. The scares mostly come from things you notice as the series progresses. I'm not sure how well it would hold up now though because of how Slenderman has penetrated pop culture.

If you'd like a nice horror series without jump scares, I'd highly recommend. TheLittleFears. She writes most of her own horror stories, has incredible production values, and a very creepy voice. There will never be a better horror reader than her, unfortunately she tends to disappear for years at a time. She's got about 40 videos up though, and the only one that has a jump scare is Mount Pleasant. https://www.youtube.com/user/theLittleFears

Yes, each video is it's own short horror story with it's own unique video. She really nails the meaning of bone chilling.

Marble Hornets is alright, though I think I mainly like it because THAC (creators) are cool guys.
And you probably won't understand a series if you will just watch all youtube videos. There is second channel with some creepy videos that are foreshadowing events that happen on the main channel, some good puzzles (like messages hidden in sounds and codes), and not every question is going to answered in the end anyway.
Marble Hornets is kinda messy and very internet-y thing that we love for... certain reasons that not always related to quality of the product.
Maybe one day one of us will write a book about an era where stuff like Marble Hornets was created with nostalgia.
