So, this thread has two purposes.

First, I've read about this smartphone:
https://oneplus.net/2
It seems amazing, I believe it is the best priced smartphone as of now. I've read the company has a great customer service.

The specs:

Dimensions: 151.8 x 74.9 x 9.85 mm
Weight: 6.17 ounces (175 g)
Operating System: OxygenOS based on Android 5.1
CPU: 64-bit Qualcomm© Snapdragon™ 810 processor with 1.8GHz Octa-core CPUs
GPU: Adreno™ 430
RAM: 4 GB/3 GB LPDDR4
Storage: 64 GB/16 GB eMMC v5.0 (available capacity varies)
Display
Size: 5.5 inch
Resolution: 1080p Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels), 401 PPI
Type: LCD In-cell
Camera
Sensor: 13 Megapixel (1.3um)
Lenses: 6 lenses to avoid distortion and color aberration
Front Camera: 5 Megapixel - Distortion free
Sensors: Fingerprint, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Proximity and Ambient Light
Battery: Embedded rechargeable 3,300 mAh LiPo battery

At a price point of $389, pretty amazing for an unlocked phone, huh? I've been trying for quite some time to get one, as good as this phone is, it isn't sold to everyone, you need an invite to be able to purchase this cellphone, I've been trying to get one invite myself, but there are lots of entries...
That'd being said, If you'd like to help me move up -some- spots in the waiting queue, please let me know so I can send you my link.

THE GIVEAWAY
I'm running a whitelist giveaway for 5 copies of Duke Nukem: Project Manhattan. If you'd like to join, just reply in the comments what you think about this smartphone, or tell me some alternatives at this price-point, the GA will run for 4 days.

I think it's a really great spec for it's price. But I personally don't like big screens on phones...

To be honest it's a bit of an overkill. I mean, the price is good for it's specs, but if you are just going to play angry birds and check FB/twitter on it then you should go with something else, for instance Zenfone2.

I don't get why people looking for such features purchase expensive phones either :/ I know quite a bunch.

Well, now I have HTC 620 ("upgrade" from SGS2) but I think I'll get Lumia 830 or 930. Android isn't working for me anymore, maybe WP will be better for me(I just want to be able to phone, text and make good quality photos).

Also, thanks for whitelisting.

I think the hardware specs are great for this price. I don't know of alternatives in the prince range, but I am not too informed about phones. Let's hope that the price will bring other phone brands to lower theirs-

1+2 is great phone, only complaint people have with it is lack of NFC. I don't own it, but I've read a lot about it.
It's got Oxygen OS which is near stock android, I think it might have been updated to Android M by now. They're fast with updates. Phone is hella fast and it has a high build quality. You can choose between on screen buttons and hardware ones. I think phone comes rooted, and you're free to put any other ROM you want on it.

Thanks for the info about the root status of the default device. That's great news, there are lots of tools that require it and unlocking it yourself is a big chore.

Well I am holding out to see what the Nexus 5x looks like, but I hear it's underwhelming in the battery department. I may also go with the Moto X Pure.

Dunno man, $400 is way more that what I'd give to buy a cellphone.
Take the Lumia 640 LTE for example, it goes for ~160 euros around here and it has everything that you could want from a cellphone and more.
If you need all that hardware just for gaming, well, whatever floats your boat.

Seems like an awesome phone. I personally like the Sony Xperia Z series. I have an M2 because I couldnt afford the Z3 and they were not selling Z2 anymore. They are releasing Z4 though the price may be a little high for now. I specially like the camera features but I read you are not looking for that. Always remember to compare them on gsmarena.
And also love what Xiaomi is doing

If slots doesn't matter, you should go for one slot... because of space! to make two slots work the phone use a LOT of space... You may get a much better phone for almost same price.
This is why most "high end" are just one slot. If it matters, like in my case, you should open hand of some extra features to give space to extra slot... This is my personal experience/advice from 1slot and 2slot cellphones.

I already have Manhattan Project, but your timing is interesting because I was just looking at the Zenfone 2 which compares very favorably at a lower price point. I'm thinking on buying one just to be a development platform rather than using it as an actual phone (mostly because I'm still happy with my Nexus 5 and don't see an upgrade in the next 6-8 months).

They did sort of cover it in the Specs section:

As the silicon battle wages on, Intel is still struggling to make it into the mobile market. In this pairing, it’s going up against the latest and greatest from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 810. While the benchmarks are a clear win for the 810, there are a few other factors to consider. For one, I experienced a lot more lag on the OnePlus 2 than I did on the ZenFone 2. When typing in particular, it often stuttered on me, and many animations did as well.

There's plenty of benchmarks that show the Snapdragon 810 is better at number-crunching than the Atom Z3580 but we all know benchmarks are a bunch of hooey, it's the user experience that actually matters. :-)

looks nice, personally not sold on touchscreen typing tho, still love my droid 4, easy to root, and seemed to be the last bastion of slide out keyboards on smartphones, battery only 1750 mAh tho, and cold weather kills cells in it easily, but they're cheap and easy to replace. (non user serviceable my ass)

I ordered an unlocked LG G3 and a OnePlus One to try both of them out. I said whichever phone I didn't like would get sold. Well, turns out the LG got put on the shelf and the OPO became my phone. (I actually got lazy and didn't sell the LG yet.) I got an invite for the OP2 but it just didn't seem like much of an upgrade over my OPO so I passed the invite up.

I'd love one, as the first was known to be amazing specs for the price. But the invite needed stopped me from getting one. I thought they might drop that if they released a second one, but apparently not.

Mi5 Plus will be a beast once it's released. I just hope the plus version isn't over-kill price in the UK.

I have a OnePlus One and still love it. The company has had its ups and downs, but I think what they're doing is pretty great honestly. It's a quality phone with really good specs and no pile of bloadware included and unlocked. The only thing I'd consider competition for it in the bang/buck sense is the Nexus 6 because you can get those for $350 for the 64GB model now and possibly the Asus Zenphone 2.

Especially at the prices they're going for now. I just love Nexus devices. I had a Galaxy Nexus, a 4, and a 7 LTE (2013) and every time I get a carrier phone (usually work phones) it bugs the crap out of me that I can't really tinker with it or do all the things I'm used to being able to do with my Nexus devices or my One.

OH! Also, I don't know if Google Fi is available in Mexico yet (likely not as they test market these things in the US typically first), but if it is that would be another good reason to opt for a Nexus 6.

OnePlus 2 is actually worse than the OnePlus 1 price-wise.
I would recommend checking other chinese cellphone producers since they are all cheap and rather powerful (Why they can offer it at low prices is obvious).
Anyway, I have a Huawei (3rd biggest cellphone supplier in Asia after Samsung and LG) and found it to be very good. They are well-known for having a strong battery.

I need a new phone, 'cause my iPhone 3 battery is pretty much dead, but I'm not going to buy another phone that will be a brick because they won't allow us to change battery, guess I'm stuck eh? Your Phone looks nice though, good specs, I'd get it if it includes the new lithium battery that doubles the operating time.

EDIT: And also have the ability to use the new IR charging

Yep, it's great. Didn't had it in my own hands, but did OnePlus One, it was awesome too. But my ideal smartphone still Nexus 5, i like design, i doubt i will ever need better specs, and of course i would love to use all them custom ROMs. Too sad i cant afford a new phone. Even more, our family is now in REALLY heavy financial situation, only money for food and not anything other. So i dont even mind about getting a new phone. But if i had a chance, i would like to pick Nexus 5 or 1+1 imho. Looks like these models are kinda outdated for you and you need something newer.. Well then, LG G4 or even G3, which still cool(and again, imho), may be good for you :)

Well, its obviously awesome, especially when i know google will support it next 2 years 100% with updates(not even saying about custom ROMs). Specs are good, but things i dont like in Nexus 6 - too big screen for me and not a such beautiful design of smartphone. But these are my personal things i dont like in it. So if they were OK for me - of course i would like to buy it. For me, Nexus series are top devices, such as G series of LG

I've got Meizu M2 Note for myself. It's an AWESOME smartphone for such good price. Of course it's not that powerful as the one you mentioned, but very good too. And by the way, M1 Note was also more powerful than M2 Note :)) That's interesting :)
