Does the "One man's trash is another man's treasure" quote apply on SG.
My view is simple by using auto join you clearly don't care what the ga creator has to say and if you don't care about the ga creator then why should you be allowed to enter. I know it's not so black and white some may use it only in a rush or as you say very rarely and not on a huge scale but for me it always boils down to that not careing thing . I mean you no offence by this it's simply my opinion Arf.!.

Can't argue with the logic there for me it's just a kinda respect thing tho to atleast read the description.

I think when someone is nice enough to give away a game, the people that join can at least be polite enough to read the description.
And the description also sometimes reveals certain restriction. Like a weird region lock or if you are allowed to join just for the DLC.

The reason why a majority of the users taking part on the community side of Steamgifts are against auto-join script is that not only is it highly disrespectful toward the gifter but it also gives people an unfair advantage. If you end up joining more giveaways because of said script, it means you lowered the chance of winning of more people, lowering the possibility that they will win a game they might have badly wanted.
For those who only sees the site as a place to pick free games, I et that they don't understand where the problem is. But for a good number of those who are making the actual gifting, they are spending money on a perfect stranger in the hope that the game they are giving away will make someone happy. While, ultimately, there's a person at the other end that will pick up the game, I have a large issue with the fact that said person couldn't even be bothered to make the 2 clicks it requires to open the giveaway page and at least glance at the description I have typed. If my game isn't worth 5 seconds of your time, then why are you trying to win it anyway?
Another thing is that we follow the rules and regulations of the site, which is a privately owned site btw allowing the admin to put in place whatever rule he sees fit, and it's irritating to see others having an unfair advantage by breaking these rules you have chosen to uphold and possibly even protect.

The right, no. Whatever your reasoning is, it's still against the site's rules.
Plus, it's still disrespectful to the gifter to bypass whatever he took the time to write in the description. A little bit of common decency goes a long way.

The site says the content must not be spam, machine or randomly-generated, those are characteristics of a bot. I'm not using a bot, it's just a button next to the giveaway without having to view the page. You guys keep talking about rules, the rules doesn't say I have to read the description. Take this rule as an example:
We encourage users to write comments thanking the giveaway creator for their generosity, although this is not required.
Thanking is not required, but only encouraged. So is viewing what the description has to say. I like to keep my right, the right the rules gave me.

True, reading is just human decency, not a rule.
Not using a bot or script to enter, however, is also a rule.

I'm no longer trying to convince anyone whether it's against the rules or not, apparently it is, but it's not yet explained officially so we cal all talk the way we want until cg actually confirms everything by detail. I'm just trying to show people that using the "show decensy by reading description" is an argument to explain why autojoiners are against the rules is wrong, because that's not what they did it for. The rules say they're forbidden if they cause traffic, that's the only thing we have so far. If there are further explanations, cg will surely make them sooner or later.

Where would i even begin, from simple lack of comprehension over what are auto join scripts to being just a huge pain to talk to, i wonder if it even justifies an answer but i'll try regardless.
Why are people so butthurt?
Well, its their games and thus, their right to be pissed, that's what blacklists are for, furthermore no one is forced to show some gratitude but it sure is encouraged, the site would never reach this size had everyone been an self entitled prick, that's what gameminer is for.
I know there are plenty of ass holes around here, for various reasons, that doesnt mean i should be ok with it.
And yet we are not talking about auto join scripts and the reason they are reason for suspension, but rather people avoiding having to open giveaway pages and read descriptions because of laziness.
Also just want to remind you, it doesnt make it right just because it isnt suspendable.
Plus your argument that users cant ask to perform special actions, is complete bullshit. Since its not the user thats forcing you to open the giveaway page before entering but rather how the site is designed

Im sorry...do you wish to take control over people's emotions?
Isnt it natural to feel displeased when the only option is to deal with it in a passive way?
People are entitled to express their emotions and thoughts over the matter, there is nothing weird about it

First of all, I wonder why people are so butthurt about people who use autojoin scripts while they have all the means to stop that from happening, I mean, you could just make private giveaways the whole time and you're fine, gooosh. Second of all, I do use an autojoin script(I admit), but only when I feel like I need a button to smash, and when I actually have 300p(which is rare since I joined forum gibs lasting for weeks and weeks the whole time). Third of all, SG says my win percentage is at %100 tomorrow and it was already %100 today and I already won twice, is that legit. Fourth of all, a lousy gib(s)
