Actually implying that even though Valve does have some big equipement, they still have problems, so we can't expect indie developpers to be able to face such large spikes.

Yes, how dare their website not handle the hundreds of thousands of people trying to use it at once. What that? You want them to spend ridiculous amounts of money to upgrade their servers for something that won't last more than a day or two? Yes, that makes perfect sense, perfect perfect sense.

I swear, sometimes words just can't describe the stupidity of gamers.

When it's something as simple as this though, it just kills me to see how impatient people are. When Borderlands 2 came out I couldn't play for roughly an hour due to the stress of the game's release. Instead of going to a forum to complain about it, I just thought to myself "Well, it's a very anticipated game, I'm sure the servers will probably be overloaded for a bit" and I went to make myself some dinner.

Permalink

Well let me enlighten you, this happens with EVERY TF2 update. Yes, really. Every time they update their game everything tf2 related collapses due to overload. So yeah, very often. And it happens with every update so I have no idea why they don't do anything about it.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I know I'm still pissed because the game runs like garbage on PC. It's unplayable due to major lag/framerate issues and a plethora of other problems. You would think devs would actually try out a game before they release it...

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Runs just fine for me, and I have an average pc.

Have you turned the Physx or whatever it's called to the lowest? I have to turn it off for games that have it since my video card doesn't support it. Mirror's Edge was hilariously laggy when I forgot to turn it off.

Also, Devs test out games plenty, thinking otherwise is simply foolish. One of the problems with PC is also one of the greatest strengths. Customability makes it so even an older PC can keep up with the times, but that same customability also makes it impossible to have any game run perfectly with every setup.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/forumdisplay.php?f=162 << I beg to differ on them testing them out. And yes I turned Physx to the lowest and it still runs horribly. These are common problems that should have been discovered prior to release. I'm not a developer in any way, but I do possess common sense. When so many people are having a common issue than it's not, by any means, user error.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You're a fool then.

As I already said, it's impossible for any developer, no matter how big or small, to find each and every glitch and incompatibility in a game, to expect otherwise is unreasonable. Just give Gearbox a bit of time and they'll fix it.

That's one of the things that goes hand in hand with preordering a game. You get whatever preorder bonuses that come with the game, but you also get whatever bugs the Developers couldn't find before release.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Lmao I love how you're so important as to call someone a fool. Get off your online "high-horse" and stop trying to pull a facebook on here.
Case and point, usually when a game is released it's made to be playable on the majority of machines. Now the number of problems outweighs the actual success of the release. Even the beta testers reported serious problems and these were not fixed.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You already admitted to not being a developer, and yet you casually state issues as if they're simple to fix, yet you say I'm on a high horse? I simply called you a fool due to your foolish belief that Gearbox didn't test their game before release.

As for the game's issues, well, I'll not repeat myself another time. Anyway, I must be off, need to pick up my niece from school.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's their career choice lmao. I wish I got paid for not fixing something just because it's "hard". Oh well lets see we have this problem... yeah it's too hard sorry. So hey let's all use your mentality and say when stuff gets hard just don't do anything. Hell then I'd be an engineer or perhaps a rocket scientist or a nuclear physicist.
Wait people actually expect stuff to work? Blasphemy!

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You've got quite the interesting thought process. I point out that you're saying these fixes are simple, so you take that as me saying they're not going to fix them?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well yes first off you pointed out something that was never said. Not quite sure where you learned to read, but I gave you the benefit of the doubt.
What I'm saying is that the issues have yet to be addressed to the public by Gearbox/2K. I'm glad you find it interesting. Sorry that I don't condone releasing products with issues when you are backed by years of experience.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I am getting no lag at all. Its probably your sucky specs.

Btw, butthurt much?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

you know, devs would love to release that product, when it's ready, but the publisher will never accept that. devs are trying their best to fix stuf asap.
Could you imagine, how many whine would be there, if devs delayed a release for month or 2?
Never play a game as soon, as it's released, if you are afraid of bugs.

Higher end PCs it wont work correctly on, which is laughable. Most people who have problems are people running either SLi or have the GTX 6xx series. Definitely not a pc problem

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

So it is a PC problem, specifically, your PC. Compatibility with a certain spectra of specifications (not all).

Personally running on an HD7970M on max with a good 60FPS with occasional odd drops to 20s-30s. Not gamebreaking. Annoying, but tolerable.

Anyway, hope this gets patched up soon for those with issues.

If it were a PC problem then a patch would have no bearing on it whatsoever. Therefore, it would be a software issue.
