Not sure why everyone is freaking out. It's only a matter of time before all the big development companies pull their stuff from Steam. Makes no sense to be giving money to Valve when you own your own distribution client now. Some serious rose colored glasses shit going on here. I remember when Steam was the anti-christ for shoving always online DRM down your throat to be able to play Valve games, it had just as many issues as Uplay/Origin/whatever but now its the second coming and some people are trying to tell you its not even DRM? Do you guys still only watch movies on VHS, are you still only listening to music on cassettes and CDs? Shit changes.
Everyone advocating piracy is being childish as fuck as well and also there arguement often falls apart. Most of the arguement is because of having to have a second client to install the game from. How is downloading Uplay or Origin then using that to download the game, less work than having to download a torrent client, then find the torrent, then make sure the file isnt loaded with anything, then unzip and install, etc. Yall are like children throwing temper tantrums because everything isnt the way you like it to be.

I have Uplay, Origin, Desura, GoG Downloader, Battle.net client and Steam already installed on my computer. I don't want and I'll not install more damn clients! I want one client to rule them all! I don't bother any kind of games outside Steam anymore. It's a stupid thing to have dozens of different clients installed and it's really inconvenient too... "I want to play XYZ game, but which client do I need to start up to do that?" Stupidity...

Not sure how you can complain about convenience, if you were going for the absolute level of convenience then any game you want to play will already have a desktop icon that will launch into whatever client its under to begin with. I can't really say anything to this kind of logic though, if you don't want to play games because you are too lazy to deal with another client then that is how its going to be for you I guess.
All these places are companies is what I think people fail to understand. There is zero reason to give your direct competition free money for absolutely nothing but providing a distribution platform when you now own one of your own. It'd be like if you went to McDonalds and you could buy a Burger King Whopper, only Burger King invested all the money into the ingredients for the Whopper and made it, but then sent it to McDonalds so they can sell it, at a cut of the sale. Why would Burger King not just go sell it from a Burger King. Do all of you only shop at one retail store for everything, do you all only eat at one restuarant? Why is clicking an extra icon on your computer to launch games so difficult? Are people that entitled and/or lazy these days?

Welp, not more Ubisoft games for me, which is a shame because they publish quite a few games that I like, which I won't be buying as a result of their stupidity =/

I just love uPlay. For example in Might and Magic: Duel of the champions - on Steam everything works fine. On uPlay - there is no sound. After a few minutes I realized that uPlay just haven't downloaded sound for the game.

and ubiflaccid say they're not going to be either. good way to loose thousands of customers. normally people that sell products want them in as many outlets as possible, especially the big popular stores as to maximise profits.

Probably weren't willing to add all the missing O's to words and paying the VA to say allu-meany-um instead of allu-min-um and the editing guy to replace the 501 times that word appears in the 456 hours of voice work Far Cry 4 has...

When this was a relevant topic, people on Reddit speculated it's due to retail stores like Game pressuring Ubisoft.

I don't support piracy in any way but they're basically asking for it lol.
Edit: So people report that in various countries (US, Poland etc.) games like Far Cry 4, The Crew etc. also disappeared from the Steam store. No more Ubi games worldwide on Steam? Ubi is a joke. They will lose more money than they can imagine because of that.
Edit 2: Seems it was a mistake and new Ubi games will be available on Steam for everyone except for folks in the UK.
Edit 3: New Ubi games are back in Steam Store for everyone except people living in the UK. Well, I'm sorry folks.
