So I decided to buy this guy csgo so i could get admin on his discord (450 members). I do it and he says he will pay me back in a week. Well he has the money for it and he is not paying me back. I reported him to steam, but I thought maybe some of the community could relate.

Have you ever been scammed on steam?

The whole thing makes absolutely no sense. Valve can't and won't do anything about it, it was conducted entirely out of Steam trade tools. Sorry for your loss, but never trust random people on the Internet.

Maybe... just maybe you made this to make us think you're scammed and just want replies of condolences for yourself and are actually laughing at your computer screen.

I'm not one of those guys who just believes whatever is thrown at them on the internet.

Well, kind of...I traded for Flatout 3 (back when it did cost about 30€) because I liked the older Flatout games :P

But I traded for a CS GO beta invite, so nothing of value was lost (it was worth a bit back then though)

not really: A trade agreement was made: The game for The position.
"So I decided to buy this guy csgo so i could get admin on his discord (450 members)"

On the screen the accused even said he will pay back.
A clear agreement was made, now broken. The Op deicided to report on steam, he should also do so on steamrep :)

Well, that was a stupid thing to do, wouldn't you agree? Even I wouldn't fall for that, and I'm like super-naive!

I never got scammed in my 12 years on Steam and 478 trades made. In fact, just a week ago I helped to put down deliberate scam operation, in which a group that impersonated steam employees and demanded that users send them their items for "verification" created multiple pages, accounts and even used trade banned accounts to make them look more convincing.

As I mentioned in my comment below you've left out many details. Answering my questions below will help people better understand the situation cause everything currently is very unclear.

Scratches head So I'm going to attempt to try and understand all this by what you've posted..
So you bought some person on the net a $16 game and they said they were going to pay you back and you would be an admin on his discord server.

How long have you known this person?

Why was it you wanted to be an admin of his discord server? Was there some special perk or bonus for being an admin for this server? I'm trying to get a better understanding as to what about being an admin of this particular server worth buying a $16 game for.

When you did become an admin of his server? And how long after that did the conversation in the screenshot happen?

Was buying him this game part of the requirement to get admin on the discord server or was this something separate?

Did you talk to him about getting paid back? What did he say when you asked him?

You mentioned above now that he banned you from the server. Why did he ban you from server?

The details are so very vague and the screenshot is only a snippet of a conversation.

I'm trying to understand why you reported it to steam, Valve isn't going to be able to do anything about this. Why would think Valve would be able to help you with this?

Report the person on Steamrep.com (with evidence) at least it will show there for other people. I only got scammed once by a person who scammed at least 100 other people, including many expert traders.

Many traders with 500+ rep got scammed with credit card fraud bought game, if you remember the Never Alone massive scam, that was it. The game was revoked from their libraries after few weeks. Besides you only have rep 6 on steamtrades -.-

+rep are worthless. If I trade I say everybody they dont need to give me a +rep or they will be blacklisted + blocked on steam. Also, steamtrade is the worst trading website ever. I give a fuck on what you think ^^ +6 rep or +1000 rep, both is the same. Maybe soon you will learn that too.

No, you will soon learn. Being known for trading is the most important thing for a trader. But I agree that any rep on Steam profile wall is worthless. And thanks for giving a fuck ;)

I do nearly 20 trades each day. I dont need to learn anything O.o

Being known for trading is the most important thing for a trader.

So what, fake +rep and you are well known? Good to know... not Thats the stupidiest thing I ever hear.

Then show me any better way, there is none. You can't fake rep on Steamtrades. It's forbidden and you'll get banned. And if you think you can, go ahead, I dare you :)

That's why I wrote "(with evidence)", don't worry, at Steamrep they don't just flag anyone. Talking about flags I don't know why he has "hidden" Nazi flag in his profile picture.
