Did steam just go down?

As i was playing CS searching for a game i got a message that i should be connected to steam in order to find game and since then im in offline mode. Anyone?

Suggestion for SGv2: a widget up top or in a sidebar that shows whether Steam is down. It would hopefully reduce the number of these posts every time Steam encounters a hiccup (which is quite often... we are talking about Steam, after all).

Why should it be the other way around?
AFAIK, Steamgifts often polls your steamcommunity account info, and possibly other info from Steam, so it's not rare to see a slowdown on this site caused by a Steam slowdown.
