What build of 10 u guys have , mine is 14393.447 wich I cant find at https://buildfeed.net/lab/rs1_release/ and Windows shows no updates at all for like a month now

There are many ways. Setting group politics, editing registry, setting your internet connection as limited(simpliest way). Just google it - if they don't give us a convenient way to do this does not mean we have to obey.

Win7 works great for me. I am not upgrading to Win10. Still, why would you not take the updates? I allow them when I am ready for a reboot; updates have been fine.

Personally I had never had that issue with any of my computers that run windows 10 home version. Both have gotten the Anniversary update, and none of them have forced me to restart my computer with my say so. So no that thing does not bother me. Ads also do not bother me as I have none on my desktops, I always wondered where they are since everybody complains about it.
On the subject on privacy, I cared in the beginning but then realised that no matter what I use data will leak and be sold anyway.
On the subject of windows7race I had all windows since the 98 version the one I hated the most of all was windows 7 and from when I started using windows 7 I updated to linux mint, then ubuntu kubuntu but mosty stayed with ubuntu till windows 10 came out. Also use mac a lot at one point. But my point is that windows 10 made me come back to windows. Maybe their privacy settings suck a bit but since everyone "steals" them who really cares.
And no I do not believe that Linux and so wanna be called good on privacy bla bla bs do not abuse the safety feeling they have created.

For the update in your OP it seems interesting, would never have guessed something like that, would have thought that it would be somekind of bug either for the forcing shutdown or for the opposite as it is much less of an accurance as it seems

Why did you hate Win7? I had troubles with XP. Never a problem with Win7; so I avoided upgrading to Win10.

I had no problems with it, I just did not like them, I used them but only for certain programs or games, I had no problems with any Windows I had, I always had problems with linux, but I still loved them. I was one of the lucky people that never had problems with windows, at least not about what people complained about. Even vista worked perfectly for me

Actually I tried them out, and I liked them more that 7 but still they were not what I wanted to make me return to windows :P though it was good enough for my gaming. And specially since with 7 there where many games I could not play without lag and with windows 8 I played those games without lag

I don't even have the anniversary update, still rocking the 1511 build, because Win10 choose to download the update at the most stupid points imaginable (my connection sucks, so I notice a huge download).
Didn't even know this update was a thing until then, I just deactivated the update service and reactivated it after a few days.
I still get updates for the 1511 build, but no anniversary update(Apparently I broke the system. lel), I may have some security risks this way, but tbh idc, I feel pretty safe with my online habits. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
As long as I don't run into any big problems I won't go and look for the AU.
I also won't bother going back to Win7 right now, Dx12 is pretty fabulous so far.

I somewhat regret my upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10, the main reason being the forced updates. Also the apps. Fuck the apps. The audio/video player is slow, clunky, and works like shit. The old version crashes often on Windows 10, even though it worked fine in Windows 7.
Luckily I know how to interrupt forced updates and cancel them out freely (at least temporarily), but still. Fuck Microsoft and fuck the forced updates.

10 is actually very good, once you get the hang of it. I have no issues with it at all.

I upgraded to 10 because of the preview versions. The tools and the "under the hood" elements of the OS are leaps and bounds ahead of Win7. It's easy enough to disable any of the concerning/undesirable elements of Windows. Regarding updates, it's possible to just disable the service.
That said, every one of my computers default boots to Linux; I have to manually select Windows.
I do, however, want to touch on some things that have been said:
Regarding the OP's statement that they lost hours of work, etc. - That's on you. It is a long-standing practice to save often because things happen. If you saved more often, that wouldn't happen. God forbid there was a battery failure on a laptop or a PSU went on a tower.
Regarding Windows Media Player and other built-in tools: use VLC, GIMP, or whatever works to replace the garbage utility you're complaining about. Paint isn't a good image editor (it's lack of an Alpha Channel, for example).
In short, if you don't know how to control your OS, don't complain when it does something you didn't want it to. Replace the shit you don't like.

Most users are not Power Users , manually saving is not always an option and sometimes you need to wait some time to save (as maybe the pc is doing some things like post processing a video and that takes time)
Also, you don't blow PSUs and Batteries normally but windows 10 keeps updating A LOT!

Sorry but I always teach my users to save often to prevent mishaps. It's the mindset that needs to be changed. Just because they're 'normal' users, it doesn't mean they're excused from negligence.
I also always set auto save feature to their convenience - they just simply say to me whatever they want, and I'll set and teach them what to do.

Teaching users to save often is improvement. This is irrelevant to the program's autosave existence.
Telling them to be aware of Windows' update behavior doesn't mean blaming. That's what Active Hours is for, and I tell them to work on certain timeframe, then I tell them to remember saving.
Never once is there an accident of 'loss of data' in my office because of Windows Update.

If the program requires you to wait for a long time to finish, then you adapt. You know the timeframe, you adjust your behavior.

By that logic, most users aren't post-processing a video and therefore shouldn't use it as an excuse.
I also want to add that using the some sleep and hibernate options (typically S3 and S4) has historically been a BAD idea.

On both my personal laptop and work laptop, I've never seen my Windows shutting down / restarting itself to update.
I have seen, though, it's updating (unpacking things) behind the scenes. I saw the Windows Update executable using my HDD when I was playing Overwatch. -.-

In all seriousness, time to rally behind Linux. It's incredibly fast and reliable. Giving SteamOS a whirl here when I can find the disk space to do so too. I was fed up with Microsoft when they were forcing me to push Windows 8 back in the hayday. Hopefully though, they will here us as consumers and make the necessary adjustments for us to benefit from :)

I've not had the forced shutdown as yet, but I've had other major annoyances of late.
I do laptop reviews every now and then, and had 4 reviews in the last 4 weeks, and each time I reviewed a laptop, it's downloaded the same 3GB or so Win10 anniversary update on my mobile data for all 4 laptops. I need the internet connection for the tests and work, and no matter how much I've tried, can't turn off the annoying update, even if I turn off all the other updates.
I was happy to do it once on my own PC, but not another 4 times. Just received a 5th unit (and last for the year), so that's another 3GB in the wind coming up.

Listen, as a power user, this annoys me. That said, as someone who does IT for others, I love it. Because they ALL think they are a power user, and that they can manage updates, and never did. I can count on one hand the number of times I worked on a system that was (mostly) up to date with Windows Updates. The simple fact is, the passes have proven beyond a doubt they can't be allowed to have the power, and MS took it away. Anyone that is truly a power user now can find ways around it, and if you can't find your way around it, then you probably need the updates.
Also some common sense things solve a lot of this. Know when Update Tuesday is, check for updates on it, so YOU pick when to install them that day. Have the Anniversary Update so you can set "work hrs" where it won't reboot. Etc.

Edit: Looks like Win10 shutdown practices aren't near as forceful in the EU as they are in the States, so please keep that in mind when making your judgments. Likewise, note that you can still set a metered connection when using wireless internet, to prevent updates.
'cause I for one, am rather tired of literally going downstairs just for a cup of tea, and finding out that my computer managed to update itself in that 5 minute period, deleting all of my open data I was working on, wasting the manhours I'd put into such. This despite the fact that even if Microsoft wanted to play the brute force shutdown card [instead of, y'know, offering a prompt like any respectable entity would- or at the very least, giving an early notification warning, like they're bloody supposed to], the fact is that saving active data to hard-drive has been a thing for ages [See: Computer Hibernate function], so they're deliberately destroying our data just because they can.
So, short of someone wanting to "brighten my day" with their plans to light Joe Belfiore on fire, has there been any word on new legal efforts or fixes for the Win10 Malware? (Oh. and interesting fact: Yes, Win 10 updates do actually meet the requirements for being defined as Malware- which makes their persistence without legal interruption all the more ..curious.)
