I bought these a few weeks ago. I haven't had any problems with them yet. I've never worn earbuds before so I don't know how they compare to others, but I read a bunch of reviews on headfi and another forum and decided on these.

Brilliant timing for this thread. Yesterday I picked up my headphones and they just fell apart in my hands!

Save up and get a better pair if you really enjoy your music.

I was using a pair of Sony earbud type ones (can't remember which 'model'), but I lost the rubber bit from one ear piece. To listen to music over background sounds takes either 1 ear piece in (comfy) and volume up full (not good for your ears & hurts after a while) or 2 earpieces in (not comfy, 1 without rubber bit starts hurting quite quickly) and still need a reasonably high volume to compensate for the 'gaps' around the ear-piece with the missing rubber bit.

I then picked up a pair of Sennheiser HD 407s (over-ear type ones, but with a standard headphone jack) and they are awesome, given I paid ~£20. They cut out a reasonable amount of background noise through simply covering your ear so don't need them turned up as loud, they are quite comfy but I find that they can slide on my head some of the time and after a while my ears get a bit warm in them. They have also survived being chucked in a bag for carrying around uni most days (along with books / coats etc.). As to music quality, I'm no expert, but I'd say you'll struggle to find better at that price. Mine also get a lot of use whilst gaming, especially late at night so I don't disturb my house mates.

If you don't mind having over-ears ones, I'd recommend the 407s.

"In-ear headphones" are actually called earphones. Anyways, try these or these. The latter comes with a speaker thingy or something.

I know that's going overboard a bit, but A-Jays Two are awesome. Nice sound, good looks and a tangle-free cable.

If you can get a little higher, I'd recommend Sennheiser CX-300 II. Here in Italy they cost a little less than 40€, maybe in other countries they are cheaper.
