I've been enjoying the band Midnight quite a bit recently. Total Motorhead/Venom worship.

For darker and heavier metal tones I would suggest Opeth, older Anathema and Katatonia (both similar to My Dying Bride). Their newer music is also superb, but it's not metal-metal anymore (especially Anathema).

If you like the classical heavy and power metal sound, then Rage (German band) is a must.
