can I join? I would giveaway Raji: An Ancient Epic as my new member GA

Ah that's unfortunate! Then how about 'Omno'? I see that got over 70 entries 4 days ago.
Comment has been collapsed.
Hey,
unfortunately Omno only got 1 entry from the group last time it was given away: https://imgur.com/a/A3OPMlM
To check group entry numbers for previous giveaways, see the section titled "How to check how many entries a game received when it was given away in QGG".

Ah okay, I used the tool for 'HELLDIVERS Dive Harder Edition' how about that? That got over 10 each time :)
Comment has been collapsed.
The needed amount of entries is 12.
Last time 'HELLDIVERS Dive Harder Edition' was given away, which was 2 months ago, it got 13 entries.
So there's a good chance it will get enough entries.
But there is also a chance it won't get enough.
Are you ok with that, or would you like to choose another game?
Comment has been collapsed.
I think I will take the chance and do HELLDIVERS, If not enough people enter then I will try another game I don't mind :)

I am thinking of joining the group. Has the restriction on gifting games after becoming friends changed? Last time I used it, I had to wait 7 days after buying a game to send it.
Planned Games
Days Gone
High On Life
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II
Elden Ring
Ready or Not
Just to name a few :)

Hey Ryahn,
According to this thread:
https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/2789318172124102374/
There is no restriction for gifting games - so you're fine.
If you decide to join QGG, please let me know what you plan as your "new member first giveaway".

Take a bump, along with a question!
Just how strict is the 3 month account age rule? I would like to join this group next time recruitment is open, but I have only been here 1 month or so, so far! Just curious, it might be that long until recruitment opens again too, who knows lol.
Comment has been collapsed.
Sorry, missed your question :(
Very strict.
Many people join SteamGifts, are active for a couple of weeks, and then disappear forever.
At best, they return a few years later, and are pleasantly surprised to discover they already have an account in SG they don't remember creating.
We don't need such people in our group.
Being 3 months in SG will both show us you're here for the long run. And will give you an opportunity to get acquainted with SG. How it works. And even join some groups other than ours.
If you're indeed here for the long run - 2 months here or there won't change anything...

My rates are low, but my rates will increase in a short time, I would be glad if you could help me.

Hey Kodeta,
Great to have you back :)
DREDGE is fine.
I sent you a group invite.
As a returning user, the rules are somewhat simpler.
I'm reminding you that the "Joining GA" (DREDGE) needs to be created within 48 hours of re-joining, and that it needs to lats at least 7 days.

I believe my ratio was moving towards positive at the end, most of my last giveaways are qgg exclusives.
And no response because I went on a longer "break" and didnt spend extra time to let people know whats up..
Ill understand your choice either way. Thanks.

Sorry for late reply, I was on vacation.
Days Gone is fine.

Hello, I do like the sound of this group as a more high tier giveaway group, where you have to be more invested, and having to play all your wins, and have your wins be played, thus really having a group where the games are good and are appreciated. It all sounds amazing.
But I have question about the group though, if I may. I am a bit curious about the needing 12 entries rule. I went through the group giveaways and it seems there are very few group exclusive giveaways that reach 12 entries. Nearly all giveaways that pass that number are shared group, and/or whitelist giveaways. For example, here I made a list of a few in the last 2 months that failed to reach 12 entries.
Which to me seem like, very high quality, high end games, many of them triple AAA, highly desired games, that are all failing to reach 12 entries. (Despite some of them being listed as examples of ones that also have reached the 12 entries) Furthermore, to illustrate how difficult it is to even gain entries in the first place, here I also listed some that failed to get a single entry, as in they got 0 entries.
Again, a quality list of games, though perhaps not exactly triple A here, but just illustrating how difficult it is to even reach a single entry, much less 12. It seems that the only entries that can consistently get over 12 entries are ones like Resident Evil 4 Remake, Resident Evil Village, or something of that calibre. Very recent, highly desired, triple A titles.
And given the description of the rules, it sounds like they are followed very strictly, and so if you give away say Control Ultimate Edition, or Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition, and reach only say 9 entries, you would just have to try again?
I don't think I will be trying to join this one right now, as I just joined the companion group, and will try to get the feel for it there for a while, and maybe later try to join here as well, but this is one aspect that really got me wondering and curious. Apologies, for very long text, and thank you for reading if you do.
Comment has been collapsed.
Thank you for the response. :) Yes, that does make sense, but I am still just curious as to why is it 12 required, because almost none of the group exclusive entries in the group reach that number. And by "try again" I meant that you will have to give another game to try to get one that would "count" as your first giveaway. So you might give Control Ultimate Edition, and it gets 9 entries so it doesn't count, so you have to try again. You then give Spiritfarer®: Farewell Edition, that gets 8 entries, so that again doesn't count, so you have to keep trying on and on, until you finally give a game that gets 12 entries, before you are "approved to the group".
Comment has been collapsed.
Actually amount of minimum entries slowly going down, it was 16+ when I joined 2 years ago. Now I see about "trying again", but before your first try you have to get an approval from admin for your "first member giveaway", so most likely you won't miss (of course if game wasn't bundled just after you create a giveaway).

Hey UnknownEAK,
You took the time to write this well though-out post, so I'll take the time to respond to you.
Kudos for the data analysis here.
In also like to dabble with data - so I'll base my answers on data as well.
Regarding the list of giveaways you posted that don't pass 12 entries.
That's true, these are all pretty good games.
But what is also true, is that each of them did pass 12 entries in the group (sometimes by far).
Let's take for example Doom Eternal - https://www.steamgifts.com/group/6HSPr/qgg-group/search?q=Doom%20Eternal
It's been bundled in Humble Choice in January 2023.
Last giveaway before that was in December, and got 39 entries,
The January came along, and the bundle was announced - and still the game got 20-25 entries during January.
And only in March, 2 month after being bundled, it dropped below 12 entries per giveaway.
Now let's think about what people who want a game do:
So it's not that making a game bundled suddenly makes it unappealing, and people don't want it. It's the opposite. Making it bundled makes it that much more accessible - and many people are able to get it via giveaways.
Now for games not getting any entries (despite being good games - I agree, they are good games).
It also stems from a similar reason.
Let's do the math here.
Let's take Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice for example.
In the last 2-3 giveaways, it got 0-1 entries from group members.
Even though it was bundled in June 2020, it still got 12 entries in a giveaway that month.
However, since then there have been a whopping 21 giveaways of the game in QGG.
So even if none of the member got the game from the same bundle (which I'm sure some did), and none of them won it in giveaways outside the group (which I'm sure some did), and they only entered giveaway of the game in our group - they would still all get a copy of the game, and at least a few giveaways would have ended without any entries at all.
Now if QGG was a more casual group (like the QGG companion group for example), and would have constant flow of new people joining (and maybe leaving as well) - then we would probably get plenty of entries in every giveaway we create.
But as might have noticed, QGG is a serious group.
Looking at our stats - https://www.steamgifts.com/group/6HSPr/qgg-group/stats, you can see roughly 50% of our members are lvl 8 and above on SG.
And I don't have the statistics, but vast majority of group members have been in the group for over a year. And a majority probably 2-3 years or more.
So I agree, it may be more difficult to get entries in our group than in younger groups, who don't have as many rules and restrictions, and have many more members.
But I think you won't be able to find many SG groups as stable as QGG.
Who has continuously maintained high quality of giveaways, every month, for the last 5 years - https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/jMqJT/quality-games-giveaways-qgg-group-popular-giveaways
Comment has been collapsed.
Thank you, Mdk25, for taking the time to write such a detailed response. :)
You have explained very thoroughly and logically why many, even great games in such a stable group, over time will receive fewer and fewer entries, especially if it has been a long time since they were bundled. I am relatively new to Steam Gifts, so I hadn't exactly considered all of that, but it makes sense. I also understand that in the process of approving the first giveaway, you are trying to ensure that the entry will most likely reach the 12 entries. It certainly appears to be the most high-profile, stable, and consistently high-quality group on SteamGifts, and it makes sense that you would want to be somewhat strict with certain rules to ensure the continuation of those high-quality games that even veteran members will still want.
However, since I am quite new here and still catching up on many PC games (and bundles) in general, having only recently returned to PC gaming, I think it makes more sense for me to catch up a bit first. So, for now, I won't attempt to join just yet, but hopefully, I will remain active on SteamGifts for a long time to come, and perhaps I will consider joining at some point in the future! And thank you again for the answer! 😊

And apparanetly you can't read:
GENERAL RULES
• At least Level 3 on SteamGifts
• Have given away "QGG Monthly"-quality games in the past
• If you're new to SteamGifts, you need to be a member for at least 3 months, and be a member of at least one other closed group (a group where you need approval to join).
Plus, you've been regifting a win and handled the situation very poorly: https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/eAyJt/double-kick-heroes
I don't undestand how that giveaway is still there and you getting CV for it....

What eeev wrote it obviously correct.
But as you obviously didn't read our group introduction (post on the top of this thread), I will quote a part from there you might find insightful:
This is not one of those groups where nobody really checks what you do, so you can do whatever and nobody will care. This group is more similar to "Actually Playing Games" or "Playing Appreciated" where there are strict rules, and everyone needs to follow them to the T. If you're more a free spirit, who just wants to give some games and win some games, and not to think about it too much - this is not the group for you!

Happy cakeday!
I just came across QGG for the first time, and I intend to apply to join next month. A question regarding the rules: on the group’s steam page, I found this part confusing:
Members that fall below 0$ in Gift value […] failure to comply (or if they fall below 50$) […]
I understand SG’s group value difference mechanism, but I can’t make sense of the two different values, 0$ and 50$. Is the first “0” a typo which was meant to be a “50”? Is the second “50” referring to “-50”?
Thank you in advance for the explanation. I resonate with the group’s values and I love how tightly moderated the group seems to be. Looking forward to joining QGG!

Hey BaatS,
Thanks for showing interest in our group :)
There are the instructions of joining our group:
How to join:
- Read all the group rules (especially the "new members rules"), understand them (if anything is unclear - ask me), and be willing to follow them. Full group rules can be found here.
- See that you comply with all the general rules. if you don't, I won't add you to the group, so there's no point applying.
- Leave a message in this thread with the name of the game you're planning for your "new member first giveaway".
- I (Mdk25) will add you as a friend on Steam (so I can communicate with you)
- I will invite you to the group
Have you performed step #1?

Hey there,
I left the group back in 2021 for a bit of a hiatus and would like to rejoin. My first giveaway would be Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire and I can figure something out if it doesn't get 12 entries.

Hey BanjoBearLV,
Rain World - would not be a good choice, as it only got 3 entries last time it was given away in the group.
Roku - I don't know what this is. I couldn't find a game by that name on Steam :(
The Ascent - would not be a good choice, as it only got 3 entries last time it was given away in the group.
Do you have any other suggestions for your "new member first giveaway". in QGG?
Comment has been collapsed.
If you would have tried in the beginning of the month - it could have!
A giveaway ending on the 11th of August, got 14 entries for Road 96.
However a giveaway ending today, only got 12 entries.
And a giveaway ending a week from today - will most likely get much less. :(
(Because the game was offered in Humble Monthly this month: as more time passes, more and more people win the game in SG giveaways or get it on Humble - so they stop entering giveaways for the game).

Darn... let me try one more.
Resident Evil Village... I know it's in a current bundle but i see it's wish listed on 40 and I don't see any current giveaways.

Our group name is also a statement of purpose. We strive to create an environment where all our members can have access to Quality Game Giveaways and a proper chance to win them.
It is a simple aim, or at least, it should be. Since the conception of the group, roughly 6 years have passed and time has shown us that while a goal might appear simple and direct, it will still require a proper structure for it to work. This means that our group rules came into shape after countless revisions and discussions, and while there is always room for flexibility and change, the most important thing is that they are there for good reason: to make things as fair as possible for everyone and ensure that only those who want the same things stay in the same group.
So if you....
...like to give back and enjoy quality games giveaways, this is the group for you.
...like for your games to be played and play the games you win, this can be the group for you.

Many have tried. All have failed. Our group management tool allows me to see exactly which GAs each member joins, and as soon as I detect new members trying this, this person is kicked from the group and blacklisted by all members.
Management of this group is done using the SGMT tool. All checks and verifications (new user, monthly, GA quality, etc.) are fully automatic.
