Slow? Is too high. I enter 5-6 times, always i expend all my points and later i've 300 points.

if you feel its too slow, give away some games to bump it up!

I kinda like how it is, points are tied to whats available to enter, more stuff gets added faster they regen. less stuff gets added and theres less to enter anyway.

a well balanced fixed schedule would only give too many points in a lull so you're entering everything just to spend them and too few when theres a boom so people complain not having enough

For me there are too many points and they grow just how they should. I'd prefer the points to be lowered to 200 or 180

Concernant le système de points, non seulement il n'est pas trop lent mais je dirais même trop rapide parfois. Si tu n'entres que dans les tirages pour des jeux qui t'intéressent vraiment, tu devrais comme beaucoup d'entre nous avoir 300 points en réserve la majorité du temps. Si le niveau de points augmente plus rapidement, ça signifie aussi que plus de gens peuvent entrer dans chacun des tirage, résuisant les chances de gagner quoi que ce soit.

Tu peux te compter chanceux d'avoir gagné quelque chose aussi rapidement. Pour beaucoup de gens, ça peut prendre des mois avant de gagner quoi que ce soit. D'autres sites de tirages limitent les points gagnés à un seul à l'heure. Steamgifts est le plus généreux à ce niveau. Les points sont générés en fonction du nombre de tirages. Plus il y a de tirages, plus de points sont attribués. C'est fait dans le but de garder un certain équilibre et de permettre à tous d'avoir des chances égales de remporter quelque chose.

I'd change the system to the cap being 100 pts + contributor value in dollars x 10.

So, for me with my $30... 100 pt base + (30 x 10) = 400 pt cap.

It'd be another way to encourage contribution.

it makes absolutely no difference how fast the points are gained, since if people get more points, this means more entries, and a lower % chance of winning but if you count your additional entries it comes back to absolutely no difference at all.

My opinion is, do not change anything if it works.

In a couple of months, I haven't gone below the 200 point line.

I just started and it seems fine. I can enter what I want and even enter for some games that simply seem like that might be fin to try.

In about 4-6 months you'll get tired of entering giveaways. You probably won't enter many at that point in time, but if you do want to win games just join groups. That'll increase your odds at least.

It used to be much, much slower before all the bundles.

I'm to lazy to read all the comments made before mine, but... You don't have to enter every giveaway made and this works with both types of people, the ones that whine about having too many points and the ones that whine about having too few points.

And now my opinion about point system, i think it's just fine the way it is.

enter for games you are really interested only and you will never be out of points. why would you want a free game if you are not going to play it? you save points and you give the opportunity of winning to someone else

Nope, it's fine for me.

The point system is ok enough to be fair, but I wouldn't mind it being a little faster since I do hit 0 pretty much every day. :P

Also I'm guessing pretty much everyone who is attacking the OP has 200+ games on their account.

I think the system is good enough.
Every time i spend all my points, I would leave steam gifts for a day.
After a lonnnng night sleep, I open up SG, and there my points would magically fill up.

I actually find the point generation to match my needs perfectly. As long as you're not entering everything willy-nilly but rather for things you really have an interest in, then I think you should be okay.
