Indiegamestand is telling their customers that they never promised steam-key's on facebook. But the google cache is showing that they removed the greenlight logo. Basically Indiegamsestand is lying to his customers and is the real douchebag in this story.

I can only hope. I know that the internet is tearing them a new one already but everyone in this story seems to be covering their own ass. Absolutely ridiculous.

To provide both sides of the story, in discussion on Twitter they said that the greenlight button was a feature added months after the concerned bundle and just appeared there retroactively. The google cache given is from 2014 so there is no way of telling who is right here. Also they said they do not support what the developer is doing just that there was no deal with giving the steam keys after the game got greenlit back then when the contract was signed.

Somebody doesn't know how loops in a web page work. lol

If they added a field to the database which contains a a reference to a link / image / text, and the loop was set to run though all fields on all instances of a greenlight game, it would show up on all pages, old or new. It was probably just an oversight and they didn't even think about it at the time.

Site AND Contracts - when Zombies was on IGS it was already a custom for a game from bundle to give Steam keys when greenlit - to not have such "customary thing" on paper in contract is not very proffesional

Was it? There's no mention of a Steam Key (although yes, Greenlight) in the post about the IGS sale on SG from back then. http://www.steamgifts.com/forum/s9jOt/indiegamestand-zombies
Also, IGS sales usually aren't bundles.

I'm inclined to believe IGS. Still doesn't let the dev off the hook for the rest though.

In any case, he apologized (grudgingly though it may have been), and is making good on his original promise, so I'm fine with the situation now. In fact, I hope he actually does release "Zombies." as originally promised and not the more-finished "Corporate whatever thing."

How many games have you bought from IGS? I already have quite a few in my wallet there, many of which were games that were greenlit and put on Steam after I bought them on IGS. I got Steam keys for every single one of those purchases. So whether it says somewhere or not, IT WAS customary to give out steam keys to those who bought there. Gentleman's agreement is fine and all but as you can see, having everything on paper is way more professional and saves you this kind of trouble in the future

I don't really agree with how him wanting names and e-mails is being blown out of proportion.

I'm sure he enjoyed the sales in the bundles, but that information is potentially even more valuable as he could market his future games to his previous buyers.

If it wasn't stipulated in the contract or discussed before hand, then I don't know why he would have expected it, but yeah.

Dev didn't know that Groupees has a Wallet/Library system, where people who bought his game could easily redeem their Steam keys. I lol'd - I know he doesn't have to know every single bundle site, but he could at least know the ones he put his game in...

I played it through and it was nothing special. Still, I don't finish most indie games.

Heh, that's pretty damn funny.

I don't think I even have the game in any bundles, but I'm glad it worked out for those who do. I really wish indie devs would stop making dicks of themselves, though. I love the indie scene, but some of these guys just don't know how to act, or think they're above acting professionally because they're 'indie.'

Like it or not, if you're selling your game for money, you're a professional. You're representing your game, you should behave as such. Like, I really don't get it. Devs put tons of work into their games, you think they'd realize that how they act in regards to that game affects perception of said game. It's in their own best interest to not act like douches. It's really not rocket surgery.

Anyway, glad it worked out for everyone, I guess. ;)

I wish people actually read what happened directly from the developer instead of throwing out shit constantly: http://indiehaven.com/dev-blog-steam-keys-for-corporate-lifestyle-simulator/

But people generally blow things out of proportion and stick to whatever they read first. So it is the age of internet.

I can't figure out where I got the game. I don't have it in Groupees, Indiegamestand or Indie Gala and I'm sure I haven't bought any Indiefort bundles or the Killer Zombie bundle. Was it for free at some point?
