I regret accidentaly activating Epigenesis on my account when I thought a different game was selected .
I bought it thinking I would likely NOT want to play it.

WarZ. Bad from the start, even worst for me when it moved to steam and I could not get a steam key due to an error and now, support isn't even answering me despite making multiple tickets. Still could play it on my account via their client but I ain't gonna bother with that steam pile of bullcrap.

Bought Blade Symphony about one and half year back... game is nice.. I don't know why i bought it though.. I have a hard time (mentalling) playing multiplayer(I am fine with playing co-op with my friend.. as long as it's against AI) games.. especially alone
Also, Audiosurf.. around the same time... Turned out to be something that I am really bad at.. other than one mode.. which i got bored of soon..

Fallout Classic pack (or it used to be) when it was near impossible to get it to work on newer machines ... but now it's the Gothic Collection, can't get Gothic 1, 2, or 3 to work for the life of me and it sucks cause I really want to play them. XD

AC3 for $30, which I believed was a good deal at the time (2013 Steam Summer Sale). Little did I know that I would never play it and that the price would drop to $5 during the Winter...

I don't have huge regrets over any purchase, but there are a few I probably wouldn't buy over again if given the choice.
Ignoring games I bought for less than $0.30 just for cards, got for free, or that I haven't tried yet:
Betrayer - part of a cheap bundle, but it was the main reason I bought the bundle. It just wasn't at all what I was expecting it to be.
Double Dragon Neon - I loved the original arcade game, and was looking forward to a bit of nostalgia. Instead, I found a boring but difficult and buggy mess.
Gauntlet - Another game where I loved the original. Not nearly as bad as Double Dragon Neon, but didn't really capture the feeling of the original for me.
Left 4 Dead 2 - I just don't really like shooting games. I thought this was going to have more of a story, but didn't really seem that way, just mindless killing over and over.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 bought for a full price as a preorder.

Wargame air land battle maybe it's a good game but not for me at least

I once wrongly bought a standard version of How to survive, it is good that steam support cancelled it, I have How to survive storm warning edition now.

Since this Steam Holiday Sale isn't the most interesting, how about a thread of the worst decisions you've made purchasing games in your time on Steam.
I'll start. Purchasing 3 copies of Afterfall Insanity 2 days before it was given out for free. >.<
