It was always going to be F2P, developer just know PC Gamers are idiots and will pay to play unfinished products.

There are already many hackers in the current state. I can't imagine what will happen if it goes to f2p. Maybe when they implement anti-cheat, it'll be safe to do but there is long way for that.

Besides, it was promise of Sony, not Daybreak. So, it makes lesser chance to happen.
