Why are you blacklisted? Because of comments like this.

What's so bad about this comment?

OP registered a few hours ago. Made the mandatory and harmless mistake of not reading the FAQ and Guidelines and opened a thread to ask a basic question. Rookie mistakes do not warrant blacklisting. Bullying rookies does.

I don't think Draconiano said he/she is blacklisting the OP or was calling others to do so. To me it was just a humorous observation about the (likely or not) next thread by the OP. Any chance you would have seen it like this if Draconiano added a smiley at the end?

I'm Vercinger. I think you mean Draconiano. Corrected.

You might be right. I wasn't so sure myself, until I noticed me and him had BLd each other at some point in the past, which was enough to nudge me over into reading his comment as him having BLd the OP and taunting him about it.

What I mean is, you did not confirm Yirg's suspicion that you were making a humorous observation, rather than taunting the OP. So I was right to call you out for bullying rookies.

Are you a cyber-hero or what?

You said "I noticed me and him had BLd each other at some point in the past, which was enough to nudge me over into reading his comment as him having BLd the OP and taunting him about it.", I blacklisted you because you won 2 games from me, but seems like you don't give back to the community at all, you just counter-blacklisted me, that has nothing to do with bullyng.

I think you are only trying to take revenge because you are blacklisted, and you saw my "bully" as a good opportunity.

Before this comment I did not know what the reason for the blacklisting was, you never told me. So I just assumed you were a bad person in general.

But thanks to this comment, I know you're a bad person now. Consider the counter-BL rescinded and welcome to the BL for being an unrepentant bully.

You're a bad person

Yeah, an internet comment makes me a bad person, I probably kill kitties everyday in real life.

I won't interfere with the rest of your discussion, but if you believe that being good in real life justifies you being an asshole on the internet, then you are still an asshole in general. I'm not referring to the context of your actual discussion/comment, but just in general.

I'm "rude" on the internet and "peaceful" in real life. I'm not justifying anything.
That's how I'm, both personalities are real and each one belongs to their respective worlds.

Sick and tired of having to deal with comments like this. What, so we're considered inferior beings with less rights to speak on this forum because of this godforsaken only measure of people's worth that is accepted on this site? As long as we don't break any rules we have every right to voice our opinion especially against the fact that people blacklist left and right for everything and nothing they don't like about each other. You're the ones taking offense to everything, to what we decide to enter or give, to how we use the site, to brand others with derogatory terms like 'leech' with your own self-made custom terms of 'ratio' and other subjective rules.

It's just his opinion aka a shitty one, but an opinionated comment all the same. Don't let it disturb you, it's not every single user discriminates here on the basis of one's level or contributory value. So it's nothing much to get angry about :)

Thank you. I'm so tired of such comments that I didn't plan on responding, so I'm glad someone else did.

Check the context here. This isn't a great example to hitch those issues to since the issue of ratio is really ironic.

Vercinger made a comment chastising someone for whom they choose to blacklist
(FUN FACT: a misinterpretation of an obvious joke in the first place, not even a declaration of a blacklist)

Vercinger has been here for FIVE YEARS with 400 wins, an amount 10x larger than what he has given.
(FUN FACT: he's also a level 6, coasting on the old system for most of those 40, compared to your level 7 with 650 giveaways)

Vercinger's opinion on blacklisting or not is about as relevant (and hilarious) as how he decides which planet to live on
(FUN FACT: he's only done two giveaways since you registered 2 years ago)

Vercinger has no business chastising anyone, and only giving (well, gave) to increase his own chances of winning
(FUN FACT: he is a hypocrite and an obvious leech, who should have never slithered out from under the rock he calls home)

Don't confuse any criticism of him being a leach as similarly critical of your ratio. They're very, very different things.

From FAQ

What are levels, and how can I increase my level?

Levels represent a user's contributions to the community. When a user creates a giveaway that's received by the winner, their level increases in value, allowing them access to additional giveaways as a reward. Levels range from 0 - 10, with level 0 being the default after registration, and level 10 being the highest level attainable. If you mouseover your level in the navigation bar, or the level on profiles, you'll see a tooltip with the level rounded to 2 decimal places, giving you a better idea of small increments in level, and when you're about to level up.
Levels increase almost exponentially, meaning each level requires double the contributions of the previous level. For example, level 4 would require double the contributions of level 3, and level 3 would require double the contributions of level 2.
How much a giveaway increases your level is based on the gifts price, so a $20 game would add twice as much value to your level as a $10 game. There are three other factors that may influence the value of a gift...

1 After you give away a game 5 times (whether in the same giveaway, or in multiple giveaways), it will begin decreasing in value. The value is decreased by 10% for each additional copy. This means if you decide to give away 8 copies of a $10 game, it would add $74.39 (10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 9 + 8.10 + 7.29) in value towards your level. This has little effect on the majority of users, but prevents individuals from receiving a high level from gifting a large number of promotional gifts, games obtained through pricing errors, or keys from contacting game developers.

2 If a giveaway is invite only, or for a whitelist or Steam group, it will only add value towards your level if it receives 5 or more entries. This is in place to prevent small groups of friends from attempting to cheat the contributor system, and to encourage users to expand the reach of their giveaways. The whitelist feature offers an easy way to target a larger audience, and you can combine it with small Steam groups to receive a greater number of giveaway entries if needed.

3 Giveaways for bundle games created after the bundle date will always receive 15% of their value. For example, if you gift 2 copies of a $20 bundle game, you would receive $6 (3 + 3) in value towards your level. Keep in mind that changes to the list of bundle games will apply retroactively, so if a bundle begins today, attempting to gift the game before it's added to the list will offer no advantage. Games may also be added to the bundle list if they're available for free during a promotion, or if they're highly discounted in a sale.

For future references: after (or maybe evenmore, before) registering to a site / forum, read the rules, the FAQ, if there are, any guidelines, and if the site has a proper forum, searching for answers there can help a lot.
Questions like: how do I level up: by giving games, Each level requires twice of the previous one to reach.
Bundled game gives 15% of it's USD price, unbundled gives 100%
Don't care about blacklists, they have very little effect on you. (It's blocking you from accessing that person's giveaways, if there's any)
Only enter for games you want to have, as you HAVE TO activate it on your account that's you're using to log into SG. No trading, no gifting for a friend.
Get enhanced steam extension because it's awesome.
Also, don't be a jerk
Kinda that's all what's important, though I possibly missed out something...
