What are the different coloured backgrounds behind some games meant to indicate?

Okay, but like, what determines the 'epicness' of a game?

If your not logged in then it will rate them based on the amount of current players (updated hourly), the amount of votes on this game compared with all other games and the sites community average time played. However if your logged in it will take note of the games you have played and lower the rating for games in which you have played more/the same as the community average time played.

I get the feeling that TF2 and Dota 2 are the top 2 games on everybody's recommended list. If your variables are including community average playtime, then I suggest you scale down it's worth a little, because what the community plays and what game we get recommended shouldn't match up so highly.

Each of the categories of recommendation are scaled currently between 0 and 1 before being added together and then scaled between 0 and 1 again, so none of them have preference at the moment, it's just the community (site) data is less then steam's :) but I can certainly tone it down if that's what people want!

It might be helpful to include a text title for games. For example, say I wanted to mark a certain game to be complete. There's no apparent order to the list so it's hard to find without text so I can use CTRL-F when I have over 700 games to search through, just for one game.

I dont really get it..
It just recommends me all f2p games, after i blacklisted them all it just recommends my newest games in the correct order i added them to my library..

EDIT the solution of the OP in the post over us helped me - sync account and then reload

Thanks for this epic website! That was what I need to complete my backlog!! But please exclude the "0 hours played" in the average playtime of the community. That is no average anymore if you take 0 hours, too

So is there any way to affect recommendations? Going through and liking and disliking games that I like and dislike, after I logged in, didn't change anything. I would have expected, for instance, that after liking Portal and QUBE it might've moved Portal 2 up higher, or after liking Stacking, Psychonauts, and Costume Quest, that the Cave, also by Double Fine, would have moved up.
I mean, it's a good idea, but it doesn't seem to actually recommend things based on what I like and dislike, but on what all of Steam is playing at the moment, maybe. Which isn't necessarily what I like, or would choose to play next, at all.

This awesome, thanks so much! I've been looking at that backlogger site for ages, but I just cant be bothered to input all my games. Your site is just what I need :D
EDIT: I also just noticed how it put all my recently bought bundled games at the top which is great, because I add them all to steam without downloading them, then forget I bought them.

I still have disliked games as #1, #3, #4 and #5... weird page and the order of the games seems to me as just ordered by the amount of time I spent in them (used least quite high rated, played a lot in the middle, never played yet on the very bottom).
Algorithm needs to be tweaked a lot, imho

Is the list of most recommended games (first 10) fixed until you finish a game from those 10 or should it change every time you play a game from your steam library?
A couple of weeks ago it changed but now it doesn't.
Thanks.

Hey all,
I've been working on a project to help those, like me, who have too many games in their library, to know which game to play next. If that sounds like you, give http://www.nextsteamgame.com a go and it will try and recommend games based on a number of different variables, you can also login and get a more personalised recommendation.#
Update: I've patched some of the bugs and hopefully it'll now be a lot quicker :)
Any feedback welcome,
Opdude
