Sorry. Sounds like a cool guy.
Also, I'm sorry the last movie you watched with him was that shitty one, would be nicer memory if it was a better movie I suppose.
It always sucks when someone dies unexpectedly, but it is prolly better that way than to have an illness that draws it out, with him suffering and the whole family as well.

I dont agree on that front, I liked Guardians of the galaxy mostly for the comedy factor, but they are still afraid of any true emotions and using bathos too much.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was plotly challenged. The characters just stumbled from one thing to another. At least Valerian had a reasonable progression of plot. Sure GotG2 had some jokes and references and okay action, but the opening scene is still in my mind the best part of the movie.

My condolences. My father was the healthiest of the bunch. My parents in law and my mother are the ones with the health problems. He was very healthy for his age. I mentioned on this forum once that at age 77 even the back ache which he suffered from for much of his life disappeared. Which was why it was such a shock. Not that it's not always a shock, but when I got the call early in the morning, my first thought was that something happened to my mother.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss... I guess they say it right - it's always hardest to bear everything for those that remain. At least you managed to spend a lot of time together and those memories would always be a precious part of your life. As they say - we are never truly gone until there is at least one person alive who remembers us...

My father died a week ago. He was 80 years young. He died while playing Solitaire Master 5 on his PC, which, to put an alarmist twist on it, shows the grave danger of playing PC games.
He was healthy and sharp, and it was a real shock for us. Only the week before I watched Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets with him.
He was a good man, who was always happy to help, and loved to learn and share what he learned. He will be missed by many.
Edit: I want to thank everyone for their thoughts. It's nice to see so much support. I've been at SG for over 5 years, and it's the only community I regularly visit these days. I posted only here about this. I was touched by the response, so thank you.
(Sorry if it will take me some time to respond to posts here.)
Edit 2: Interestingly, I got on a few whitelists and blacklists due to this topic (more whitelists than blacklists). Not sure why, but it's an interesting part of being on SG.
