Waheeey, it's back.
The better news for me is that (provided there are no hiccups getting internet at my new flat), I'll be able to contribute this year too. Despite covid and the curse of 2020 causing major financial problems, I was able to line up my first digital art commission ever, which when completed should hopefully leave me with enough left over to sneak a box into the event. At absolute worst I guess I could get this months humble choice and scatter those around with clear labelling.
The peeking feature is definitely appreciated though. With that and the lack of DLC / 0CV stuff, even the troll-boxes will feel like less of a buzzkill. Thanks <3

I might have jumped into the deep end, because it's a 5-person grouphug / lounging situation, but it's been teaching me a lot about composition. My art skills aren't even that hot but the deadline is christmas eve, so it's been uh... 'fun'. Fun like accidentally deleting two important layers without realising, and then saving over my backups too, haha.

Oh no! Lost work is horrible :(
Consider an automated back-up system that saves the history of your files throughout the days / weeks, so this doesn't happen. I personally use Dropbox for my work, it's been very useful in saving my delete/modified files.
We're at the home stretch of 2020, it'll soon be a whole new year (of more disasters)! :D

I opened a box right now and it led me to a GA of 'Alan Wake Collector's Edition', which I already own. So I "lost" an opportunity at another box, because hidden games on sg are not blocked this year. I get why this was changed in principle, but it does led to some cases such as mine.

That's why peeks were introduced. Now everyone has the same chance.
I peek into 10 today and only two hints encouraged me to open the box. And I "wasted" rest 3 chances to open random boxes.
It's less convenient than filtering all "unwanted" GAs, but people with tens of thousands of filtered games had clear advantage last year. Like I filter out all games below 7p.

Yeah, my bad for being not specific enough in my word choice. I meant I "wasted" a peek not a box. It's just that these kind of Editions would have been filtered out last year. But as someone with more than 16k hidden games, I had had a big advantage last year. So all good.

Was very much against the "hide list block" last year, so I am glad to see the peeking added this year, and yes it does help against the trolling. Might be too effective at it's job, though one box did make me sweat a little as both options presented seemed very real and one was wished and the other not (good thing I got lucky :)).
And also a good time to give some gifts. Since I'm lazy prepared well for this, I might add a few gifts now even though I've been lacking at gifting lately. Due to aforementioned properties though don't expect the nicest boxes XD.

I had a troll encounter too. The user have a troll steam profile and because both i thought "check him with sgtools", said and done, gave 2 unactivated wins as response. So ticket made and maybe the trolling, of that one, end after that ;o)

The people around me catched users with up to 68 not activated wins.
My record one had 38 not activated.
So yes, i am happy about each one that check, at least, their winners with sgtools.
And it can't be wrong to check trolls and rulebreakers that jump into the spotlight in a negative way^^

It's enough to be infected with the seed of "i should check my winners with sgtools" and if you want to include then some users that enter all 50copies+ GA's (they get automatic sended, so the gifters normaly don't check the winners...), troll, make trouble or jump in a other way into the sporlight... then is it not wrong too ;o).
Of course you can apply for our group too but i don't give promises -a lot to do in the reallife and not much lately for sg, so i am much behind with the application checks-.

You can easily toggle the filter list on and off in your account settings. Is there any particular reason you're looking to permanently wipe the entire list you built?

When i try to create holiday event and press Review Giveaway the screen just refreshes and nothing happens. I have tried this many times and always same thing. Anyone else have this problem and if so how to fix it?

Hmm, it should highlight in red if you're missing something on the giveaway page when you go to review.
Are you forgetting to include an image on some side of the box? You need a picture even on the bottom side of the box, regardless if it will be visible or not (I didn't realize that at first either, kept trying to review and it would refresh on me as well). :c
Otherwise, yeah, that sounds really odd that it wouldn't let you.

Not even blacklisting gets rid of those boxes. At least not immediately.... this sounds pretty bad about Christmas gifting, but I don't want to see the same self-promotional boxes for 5+ pages while looking for anything original.

The peek option is so good. Sadly I got to know it only after being trolled by one highly desired game decor :D
I would also wish for an option to unwrap presents just to know whats inside (and if you do that you can't jon the GA anymore but it would quench your curiousity). So many good designs and they will forever be unknown. :(

Could you please add support for other image websites? Imgur is awful and all registration require phone numbers which is something I would never give out so easily.

How it works:
You can peek into 10 gift boxes each day. When you peek in a gift box, you'll see a random number of games (2-4) and one of them is contained within the gift box. You can then decide whether or not you want to open the gift box. This should stop trolling because if a user creates a box with the design for a highly desirable game, you can peek to see if it's actually one of the options. It should also help everyone to find boxes that better interest them, while still keeping a bit of mystery and excitement in the event.
No spoilers. Please do not share what games you found or what was contained inside of a gift box.
