These are mine
Titan Quest+expansion: Not because I don't like it, it's because I bought it while I was playing Torchlight II at that time, was so cheap I couldn't resist, but still never played it, but I hope I will, cause the game looks great and I love mythology
The Last Remnant: Just the same as above, was cheap, but I never really needed it, but I swear I will play some day.
Miner Wars 2081: Got it so cheap it was a steal, but it's poorly optimized and my pc is crap
Saints Row 2: Same as above, horribly optimized

games seemed disappointing this year. pre-ordered ME3, finished before the free dlc "fix". was disappoint. that is tied with D3, got halfway through the final difficulty, and got tired of farming so I could buy gear good enough to go forward.

Borderlands 2, I know, it's REALLY shocking, but I can't find time to it when I have other games that I enjoy more, even I played a cracked version long, and enjoyed it, and when I bought it, I didn't want to play it because it was other games that I enjoyed more but maybe I will go back soon.

Tycoon. City. New. York. NEVER buy that game. It is full of bugs and glitches, it takes forever to load, and sometimes it never loads. But most of all, it's a virus.

Anything with "Tycoon" in the name is a big no-no for me.

Diablo 3 for sure. People complain about is being repetitive. Those people never played any Diablo before. My complain is about the flawed mechanics, poor design, loads of expectations and for beign a very limited game.
take Torchligh2 as an example. You got an awesome design, great itemization and a crap out of customizations in you character. Blizzard staff should bring Runic guys again to their team, this way they could learn something.

its not really a title, and its a lot, but the whole collection of DLC for Killing Floor (all the characters). Impulse bought them last summer sale along with Killing Floor itself, and even though it was 75% off, I still wish I had saved my moneh for a game (I'm not a huge fan of buying cosmetics in games, not really a fan of free cosmetics either)

Complete opposite for me. I loved Tripwire for making only cosmetic DLCs payed and all other stuff like maps, events and weapons free. Those cosmetic DLCs are just way of supporting them. Tho I got disappointed lately with their new DLCs. Pack of payed weapons for 6€, now the sell single skin for 4€ instead of 1.50 for whole pack and 7€ for 4 weapon skins is just bad joke.

Torchlight 2.
Set uniques are boring and don't add anything to replayability. The plot is subpar compared to D2. Despite having two gigantic desert levels, it turned out that the forest was the most mindnumbing due to its sheer size. There is very little atmosphere. Elite difficulty isn't "hard hard", it's "one-shot KO hard" which is kinda bullshit when you realize that Veteran is basically "normal" and Normal/Easy are "Easy/Casual". There's just no middle ground.
On the positive side... mods and duo co-op multiplayer. So good, and yet so lacking.

The Witcher, I didn't think about how old it was and that it was going to look like crap. The left click to fight mechanic is soooooo boring. A lot of people like this game so I'm guessing it gets better a few hours in by maann it plays like total shid. Ravaged would probably be a close second. It doesn't have anything that the free shooters don't have.

brink, my computer couldnt handle the graphs but i guess that was my fault or nation red, a little bit too repetitive, only like 4 hours of gameplay

So the end of the year is almost here so I think this is a valid thread (though for some the worst purchase may come via the Steam Winter sale so in that case feel free to reference this thread at that time).
So what is the game you wish you didn't shell out the cash for this year?
For me the award goes to Guild Wars 2. That's probably shocking to some and even myself because I really wanted and thought
i'd fall in love with that game but it just won't grab me no matter how many times I try to get into it.
