it works a little closer to the old system in the sense you can purchase something for someone several months in advance even on sale, however you must choose who you are going to deliver it to upon the purchase & that person must already be on your steam friends list. after the scheduled delivery time hits, it delivers. if they accept it, then obviously they get it (in their library only), but if they decline it, it automatically disappears entirely and refunds the money to your steam wallet.

Declined Gifts Resolve The Way They Should
Every time I read this line, though..
Really emphasizes how stupid Valve is, or how much obvious BS they think we'll put up with.
Storing in inventory has always had numerous functional purposes- the only way "should" can apply is from the perspective of Valve, and that clearly isn't something for them to be presenting as a plus to us.

Love how it's worded in such a way as to make it sound like Steam is doing us all a big favor. I'm curious whether there was even one person demanding this change. Just one even!
