I've been feeling very depressed lately and this song helped me a lot so I am making this train to raise awareness for how serious of an issue sexual abuse is. Please watch the video and share. Enjoy the train,

Sorry to read about this. I'm glad the song gives you strength. I think the people that refused to listen to it did themselves a disservice and would have found it quite different to their expectations - it was certainly no Poker Face. As the son of a talented Clinical Psychologist, I am probably a bit biased in thinking that counselling with one is the best way to address the underlying issues, but I recognise that they are not all as skilled or experienced as my dad. He's also written a self-help book that people with anxiety and self-esteem issues have told me is quite good. I can send you a free pdf if you are interested, and I also have paperback copies but you'd have to pay for postage from Australia because I'm broke.

Sorry to hear that. You can get me via text or voice on Steam if you want to talk. I don't have my dad's special expertise but I'm told that I'm good to talk to.

Think positive. Leave the past behind and focus on the future. I have no idea what you've been through but this advice works on everything. Cheer up ;).

If it is "just" memories making you feel that way, please try seeing a psychiatrist / psychologist / whatever is the correct profession name for those people trying to help people out of mental troubles.
If your problems are also still physically real, maybe try calling a helpline or even better try to bring yourself to go to the police.
I'm really sad for you. :-( Other people can be so cruel. I can't do any more for you but cheer you on. Go girl! I wish you strength.

I'm so sorry, vampkitty. It's so unfair...you don't deserve it and it's not your fault...people on Steamgifts from all over the world want to support you. I hope you have a parent, trusted sibling or friend, or other loved one who can help you during the toughest times. You are probably stronger than you know. Years from now, even though there may still be flashbacks and other difficult moments, you'll be amazed at yourself and how you persevered and worked through the most difficult times. It will give you strength to face anything else than life throws your way. You will be a stronger person than you ever imagined. And you will thrive.

As a father of a young daughter, it's perhaps my greatest fear for her. It breaks my heart to think of somebody's little girl going through something like this. Peace and happiness to you. <3

You are a treasure; a flower. A child on a grand journey to explore this universe. Don't let anyone or anything to take from you all the precious and beautiful things your life had so far and will have in future. They are nothing, a fungus under your feet.

Body will heal and mind will rest. It is okay to cry for now. Just remember that you are a little treasure and there are a lot of wonderful things for you to find and experience <3

saying "everything will be fine" sounds good but usually it doesn't help at all. but it's cheap and easy. just like going to church and pray that god makes the bad and wrong go away instead of actually getting your own hands dirty.

there's absolutely no shame in going for professional assistance, especially when you feel like you're losing it.
you may want to undo the things that happened but sadly you can't do. instead you need to learn to cope with it. otherwise the terrible things will happen over and over again in your head and never let you go.

dunno why but writing this it just appeared to me that today must be a foo day.

Unfortunately I gotta admit that this topic hits home way too close, way too many friends who sadly had to endure such abuse, hmm...

Well, I'm kinda at a loss for words because of this right now, but whatever happens to you in life, there's that one thing nobody and nothing can take away from you and what makes you you - your soul and thoughts. There's no shame in sharing your pain, you don't have to carry all of it on your own. Life offers too much to let it solely go to waste on some inner demons or bad things that sadly occur, trying to corrupt ones point of view... wish you all the best and the strength to keep your chin up high, have a little kitty cat ;>.

Bump, it's indeed a serious issue that needs attention, especially in colleges and high schools. At the university that I'm studying, it's mandatory for freshmen to attend an orientation about sexual assault on campus and how to call for help/assist victims. I think it's the right thing that my school did!

Hope you will feel better soon!
Wounds never heal fully, they leave scars, but scars make us who we are.
I have my plenty of scars (both physical and psychological), and they make me who I am.
There are days where they hurt (yes, even the physical) or remind me of what happened.
Sometimes I forget about them, and suddenly, they pop up, or I see them again.

Thank you for sharing your feelings (and some giveaways) with us
