Put which country you're in in the description. No use getting prices for US stores etc.
Edit: Ok, the 920 pounds was a hint ;)

:P
great british pounds (just in case there is another country that has a pound)

but if I understand it right - they can fix just the screen, without touching mb. why don't you try it, and if it works -just keep it. I meen, if the choise is between "laptop with no warranty" and "laptop going to trash" then warranty does not looks too important. Of course if you already decided to buy a new one - I'm not going to try to stop you)

does the motherboard being twisted (it was fine when i sent it :P) mean the computer will function the same, if so hopefully it will only be the £40 or £120

Well, twisted mother board can cause problem, but can as well function just fine. If it was fine last time you looked at it I would believe it's okay. BUT, it is possible that those guys from service can intentionally break down something just to make you pay(

What a 'warranty', this looks like standard technician costs. I would not trust this 'warranty'.

(and i paid extra for their 'deluxe 5 year warranty' :P)

this is just a list of current hardware for top games like pubg, ow , cs , gta etc.
i7 7700k
cooler
z270 mobo
ram 16gigs
250gig ssd
1-2tb hdd
gtx 1070
case
psu ~650watt
monitor
going cheaper would be i5 7600 , B250 mobo , gtx 1060 , ram 8gigs , cheaper cooler , 120gig ssd OS only pretty much.
cheaper psu
anything below would be just standard pre builds for very basic stuff aka not a gaming station.
also note that amd vega yet to hit and 8th gen intel is soonish which already be seeing 6cores for mainstream.

If you decide to build (a lot easier than you imagine) then the "best builds" section of tomshardware.com and pcpartpicker are good places to start. You can get an idea of the kind of specifications you can get for different budgets and you can find smaller builds like the mini-ITX boards. pcpartpicker has a UK site, so you can see the prices in pounds, not sure about tomshardware, you might have to do a bit of research to check the local prices.
There's no guarantee for the entire computer, but the parts will be under warranty and you'll know how to replace the individual parts after building.

Hi there , my last gaming laptop is broke and they are trying to charge me £920 to repair it so i may as well get a whole new computer, can anyone please recommend anything for me.
My room is quite small so anything compact would be the best.
Here is a small train for your kind help (all lvl 1)
https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/hlgWD/
thanks kindly
Edit: here is the message they sent about the repair ( I only sent it in because the screen wouldn't turn on :p)
Hi John
Thanks for your emails and I apologise for the delay.
We are fixing the minimal amount that we need to see where we stand which is LCD cover and LCD cable. According to the technician, the hinge is repairable without replacing.
This would put repair at about £40. If the machine requires a new screen, we would be looking at another £80 but we wouldn't proceed without informing you.
As the Motherboard seems slightly twisted but working, we would not be able to continue to warranty the machine if this isn't replaced, despite working. Because the CPU and GPU are soldered to the board, this would be around £800 to fix.
As soon as we know more we will certainly let you know.
As always, if you have any other questions or queries in the meantime then please do not hesitate to get back in touch.
