Surround the text of the link with square brackets then immediately after it surround the website link with normal brackets

eg: [Clicky] (http://www.steamgifts.com/forum/vUnIE/important-updates-to-contributor-values-and-bundle-games)
I left a space in between the two groups so it doesn't encode, but you MUST remove the space

You have bundled game, so your CV will stay at 30, unless you make a giveaway for a non-bundled game. When creating a giveaway, those with a * next to their names are bundled.

You'd think, I created a giveaway for a non-bundled game, but by the time the giveaway had ended, the ever annoying * had appeared by it, and I didn't get any CV for it...

Giveaways created before a game is bundled won't become "bundled". When you created it it was already bundled, it's not a matter of it becoming bundled during the giveaway.

For instance, I created giveaways for Arena Wars 2 a few days before it became bundled. When it became bundled my giveaways gave me full cv because I had created them before.

edit : if you were referring to Takedown : Red Sabre, this game was available with over 95% price cut, thus was considered exploitable when you created a giveaway for it.

There was no asterisk by it when I created the giveaway... There was by the time it finished... I didn't get the CV...

Because when a game is bundled or exploited, people hurry and quickly create giveaways for it, hoping to game the system and get full CV for it.

Same happens when a game is suddenly being given for free (Thief, for instance, or Avencast recently). Steam gifts is swarmed with those games because people hope if they are quick enough they can get CV out of nothing ;-)

The staff adds the asterisk later because the process isn't automated, but those who created a giveaway after the game started being exploited / bundled, won't get the full CV.

That's not accurate. Giveaways created before a game was added on the bundled list CAN and DO later have their CV changed to bundle values, because it's not based on when it was added to the bundled list itself, but when they set it in the database. They have repeatedly changed things retroactively in the past for exploited titles, especially those removed because they flooded and it took a couple days for support to remove it from the list, etc.

So it's absolutely possible that it was bundled part way through a giveaway, and the resulting CV gained would be bundle value instead, as long as the giveaway itself was started after whatever retroactive date & time was used to add the title to the bundle list. For that matter, even if he had already gained the CV from a completed giveaway, but that giveaway was started after the time set, he would lose the CV the same way. Hence all the threads about people complaining that they lost their CV over many of the exploited titles that were removed, of which Takedown: Red Saber is one.

The reason you did not lose any CV and had the game you mention giving away count as non-bundled CV is because you started the giveaway BEFORE the bundle started, and when it was added to the bundle list, the database was set to only work retroactively on giveaways started after the time the bundle went up for sale.

That is accurate, just a matter of putting things. You're just repeating what I said.

When I wrote "Giveaways created before a game is bundled won't become "bundled"" I meant,
"giveaways created before a game is put in a bundle", not
"giveaways created before that game is added to the bundle list".

The original statement lacked information about half the types of games that ended up on the reduced CV list, and by proxy failed to address the issue the user actually suffered. That WAS an inaccurate statement, as it didn't give the full and accurate information.

From the Merriam-Webster Dictionary: "in·ac·cu·rate
adjective -ˈa-kyə-rət, -k(ə-)rət\

: not correct or exact : having a mistake or error : not accurate"

So yes. It was inaccurate. By literal definition. Which you somewhat corrected by editing, but still without giving a proper explanation of what you meant, or communicating your actual idea fully, leaving it somewhat vague and ambiguous, if more concise than my own. Mine was more accurate however, and did NOT repeat your info, since if your post had adequately explained the concept in a way that wasn't easily misunderstood, I'd not have wasted the time nor effort to correct it.

The date in the bundle list may even be a few days before the actual bundle started, if the games contained in a bundle where revealed early.

I'm not saying your statement is wrong, it's just an addition =)

If you give a game and on the same day it appears on a bundle, your game will be counted as a bundled game. Sometimes the * appears later on because the mods are busy in which case, it will be back dated to that day.

bundle list

Delve Deeper was in a bundle and Orion : Dino Horde is exploited. So you're not going above the $30 limit.

What does it take to be sure everyone have to understand faq before using this site? How about cookies for those that never ask questions that are covered in faq? Its not gonna solve problem but maybe help with it a bit?

Not to mention search option, but thats internet thing, no hope here...
