Today I rewatched Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) and also watched for the first time Annihilation (2018) which I very much enjoyed =)

Lightspeed (2006). I saw that Stan Lee was involved. Got excited. It was terrible. I wish I could turn back time. The bad guy brings in a replacement for an object he intends to steal only to blow up the building once he's outside with the replacement which was also an explosive... He went through the trouble of making a fake of an object that no one was going to see anyways...

In theaters: Avengers: Infinity War - Friday morning
@ home : The Greatest Showman - Saturday evening
Thoroughly enjoyed both movies, but can't talk about Avengers until my wife has a chance to see it.

It's a Disaster (2012)
One of my favorite David Cross movies, about a couples brunch during the end of the world. It's easy to watch as the characters feel real (almost with too many notable flaws each), very awkward at times, but overall it's just a fun movie. 8/10 would force boyfriend to watch again.

Forced is a strong word, he doesn't agree to do things so much as will do them if you take the lead so I put it on and he laughed. It's definitely not the best movie but I recommend nonetheless. xP

I have no idea at all how this movie got a 76 on Metacritic. First of all it doesn't make any sense (Spoiler following) that "the other humans" even forced them on this odyssey. What exactly did it achieve? They observed them all the time and knew about the kid. They only endangered their lives and at the end they exposed their own existence to millions.
And that unnecessary endeavour ends up being the backbone of the movie. But what does it actually offer? No excitement, no real emotions. It only plays with leaving the viewers guessing, offering them nothing of value. The actual plot never is above generic quality.
5/10

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) It was fun to watch, nothing too special...but fun 6-7/10
Also saw Avengers Infinity War on Saturday...pretty good, but I think it's not good to have that many superheroes in one movie. ~7-8/10

Moonrise Kingdom - a beautiful staged and funny coming of age / romance by Wes Anderson. But as with most of his movies you gotta love quirky characters and his kind of humour to enjoy it.

I'm confused as to why this movie is popular. It is a bit of a hurried mess and I thought it was a bad comedy until I looked it up.

Heh, I've just seen Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, another of Luc Besson's movies. That experience made me appreciate The Fifth Element even more than I already did.

Agreed. For me Rihanna was the only somewhat memorable character in that movie.

Mediocre movie night with the good, bud odd You Were Never Really Here (2017) - 7/10. Mr. Phoenix is amazing as always. Love the camera work.
And the disappointing Proud Mary (2018) - 4/10 Not enough drama, not enough action and I think mr. Glover's dubbed over his scenes.

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 - Excellent movie, although I still love the first one more.

Brazil (1985)
It was OK, it had some interesting stuff but that's about it. It was above average in my opinion.

American History X (1998) - Seriously, a 10/10 movie. When a movie makes you feel so many emotions, it's bound to be good. When a movie makes you think about it after its over, it's a good movie. When a movie hooks you in so that you don't even notice the time, it's a good movie. When all of these are put together... then that's a perfect movie. I genuinely felt uncomfortable outside walking my dog after watching the movie. I felt disgusting and afraid, knowing that if things were different, I, or anyone else might've ended up like him. Realistic drama and scenarios tend to get a bigger reaction out of me than the superhero flicks or some fantasy epic. If that sounds like you, check this piece of art out.
This is England (2006) - Another 10/10 movie. Lucky me. This time it's realistic, but it reminded me of my own childhood a lot and, again, how it could've been if things had been different (but this time it was very likely). I loved it from start to end. Probably the best British movie I've ever seen.

I love American History X. I actually mentioned it just 2 days ago as my favorite movie here. :)
I'm pretty sure that I've seen it a dozen times or more by now and it never feels any less engaging. Just brilliant and the only movie I'd want to rate with a 11/10.

Can't give it an 11/10 because of Edward Norton's crying. Genuinely took me out of the movie, thinking that "yeah, this is a movie". Dude looked like he was laughing half the time if the sound hadn't been on. I genuinely can't even imagine why they didn't reshoot it. (Though considering the reputation of Edward Norton, he probably was the reason why it wasn't reshot.)

The Week Of - I saw it advertised on Netflix and watched it. It was okay

Fast Five (2011)
Except that during the last chase scene I realized that I had already seen the movie before, I just didn't remember anything outside of the ending.

Here we go, I'll start.
Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark (2010) - This movie is a joke. At first it's interesting, then it's boring and then it's just funny/pathetic. And they put it in a "horror" genre. Words are not sufficient. Nosferatu is turning in his grave. 3/10
