I prefer having physical copies of a game. I like to have the ability to install and play a game whenever. and wherever I want, also so my family can play my games without us having to own 1 copy for each person. My biggest gripe with steam, is the fact that it has no sub-account feature, to allow me to share my games with my family, it would take little effort for them to allow sub-accounts, they would just need to make it so only 1 person could play any given game at the same time, unless multiple copies were purchased on the same account.

For ps3 I do, the digital option is rarely cheaper.
For PC, the discount even on pre-release is enough to pass on any physical pre-order items.

I used to buy dvd-boxes but then I took arrow in the knee.

I tend to buy "Steam Powered" games physically. Other than that, I still occasionally buy physical copies.

Yes, if physical copy is cheaper because:
a) they do proper dollar to euro conversion (saves 25% on any Blizzard title for starters)
b) shops dropped price because they need to move units to empty shelves. (30 euros for XCOM:EU Collectors Edition instead of 45 for regular one digitally ? Sure, I'll take the artbook etc! In fact, most 2K games seem to suffer from this for some reason)
That, or if it's a collectors edition or otherwise show piece that I really want.

As much as i want to, i don't. The price isn't good, i have to pay 40 bucks for a game that requires Steam which will be on sale for like 5 bucks on Steam. Doesn't help that the majority of the retail titles these day require the platform as a DRM.

I get physical games from time to time. Mostly collector's editions though. I grew up when pc games came in a BIG box with lots of things in it so..buying a dvd box that has only a disc and a piece of paper with the s/n on it..kinda feels a waste. But when a physical game is in a nice box (and i can afford) then i am getting it:D

I have a few physical games on my library (Bioshock 2, AC 1 and Brotherhood, Dead Space and RE4, i dont enter those Giveaways so dont worry).
My question here for all of you is : Do you still buy physical games ? After getting to know Steam, i rarely buy a physical game since they are kinda expensive where i live (Mexico, IE: Halo 2 PC still 50 dollars).
So, what do you say ? Still getting old disc and shiny manuals and case ?
