Thanks for the info nhahtdh. The reviews look a bit eh, but I've been wanting to try out some JRPGs lately as I've been nostalgic for the few I played when I was little. So this is a good chance & deal for me:)

Saw this deal on Steam earlier. I'm not sure, but it's really, really tempting. I started asking people about it on a social media app.

I do have a sizeable backlog already, but 80% off is juuuuust so tempting! And I know I've heard of this series somewhere before...

I checked the Agarest: GoW (I guess that's the first game?) Steam discussion page and I'm still in the maybe/maybe not mindset.
What I like/what attracts me:

• Crafting
• (GoW Zero) Card Skill System that apparently shapes your character
• Characters that, with a bride, can be shaped to create the next generation
• Other potential unique gameplay elements

What I don't like:

• Appears to be on the grindy side. Eww.
• Battles seem like they can take a while

It does appear that the DLCs aren't THAT crucial though, which is good (unless extra characters).

I guess I will listen to more opinions on it and maybe do some research on the gameplay itself, and then decide whether to get it in the final few hours aaaaahhhhhh.

I've played Agarest: generations of war 1 and the game was ok, not too good not too bad even if you like tile based strategy jrpgs, you wont particularly enjoy it a lot. Reasons are its too long, you can't finish it within 100 hours and it gets really boring as you progress. Even though there are lots of waifus to choose from, its too repetitive and dungeons are annoying especially if you get lost.

So, so tempting, especially since grinding and I are besties AND I've been wanting to play a JRPG again as of late. Buuuutttt money. Bah.

Also did anyone else see that pseudo-tentacle porn screenshot on the slideshow for Agarest 2? A+ job to whoever snuck that in, ahaha.

I played a number of JRPGs, but I found this one pretty boring and bad in terms of control when I tried it a long time ago. One of the few games I've refunded.

I grabbed them, I love Japanese Tactical RPGs, it's a niche genre and we don't have enough on PC, the deal was too good to pass up.
