ENDED. Feel free to ping if the same or better deal is on, but please refrain from commenting otherwise.

The whole Agarest series and the DLCs are on sale at historically lowest of 80% off for the next 2 days.

If you are planning to buy the whole the series, just grab the Agarest: Complete Saga Package, which is cheaper than buying the games individually.

Some notable DLCs, which are not just items or unlocks that you can get in game as you play, according to suggestion in the community forum

DLC is just straight up P2W you don't really need.

Agarest 2 - Bundle #6 seems to add more characters. I didn't bother checking every single DLC out as there are many of them, but perhaps some other DLCs add more content too.

Bundle #6 for Agarest Zero is decent as well. So if you want to avoid the cheat DLCs but want to grab stuff that adds anything meaningful to the game, grab both of those.

I skipped #5 for Agarest 2 since supposedly the costumes only show up in cutscenes..

Maybe...next year. Should cut back on the backlog, at least on the more important parts.

Thanks for the info nhahtdh. The reviews look a bit eh, but I've been wanting to try out some JRPGs lately as I've been nostalgic for the few I played when I was little. So this is a good chance & deal for me:)

Saw this deal on Steam earlier. I'm not sure, but it's really, really tempting. I started asking people about it on a social media app.

I do have a sizeable backlog already, but 80% off is juuuuust so tempting! And I know I've heard of this series somewhere before...

I checked the Agarest: GoW (I guess that's the first game?) Steam discussion page and I'm still in the maybe/maybe not mindset.
What I like/what attracts me:

  • Crafting
  • (GoW Zero) Card Skill System that apparently shapes your character
  • Characters that, with a bride, can be shaped to create the next generation
  • Other potential unique gameplay elements

What I don't like:

  • Appears to be on the grindy side. Eww.
  • Battles seem like they can take a while

It does appear that the DLCs aren't THAT crucial though, which is good (unless extra characters).

I guess I will listen to more opinions on it and maybe do some research on the gameplay itself, and then decide whether to get it in the final few hours aaaaahhhhhh.

I've heard that buying the "cheat" DLCs makes it far less grindier. This may be one case where you might want to get cheat DLC, but it does make it quite a bit more expensive if you do that. DLC bundle #6 for both Agarest Zero and Agarest 2 are the ones you wanna buy if you want the non-cheat DLC.

Yep, read the same.

I think I would only be most interested in content that adds gameplay elements that would otherwise not be available. I read something about forbidden books, and new characters. Those are the ones I would be down for.

I've played Agarest: generations of war 1 and the game was ok, not too good not too bad even if you like tile based strategy jrpgs, you wont particularly enjoy it a lot. Reasons are its too long, you can't finish it within 100 hours and it gets really boring as you progress. Even though there are lots of waifus to choose from, its too repetitive and dungeons are annoying especially if you get lost.

So, so tempting, especially since grinding and I are besties AND I've been wanting to play a JRPG again as of late. Buuuutttt money. Bah.

Also did anyone else see that pseudo-tentacle porn screenshot on the slideshow for Agarest 2? A+ job to whoever snuck that in, ahaha.

Particularly since that game PC wise got hit with some nasty censorship (including a DLC not being released with a character from the previous game); 1 and 0 aren't really touched.

I played a number of JRPGs, but I found this one pretty boring and bad in terms of control when I tried it a long time ago. One of the few games I've refunded.

I had these games from my wishlist for a while. When I found out that it's 80% off, I did a search on the game itself.

Cons that made me pass and remove the game from my wishlist:
Fan Service
Slow Combat
Grind Heavy

I grabbed them, I love Japanese Tactical RPGs, it's a niche genre and we don't have enough on PC, the deal was too good to pass up.
