If it was for my family and I wouldn't have any other choice, I would steal it.

But if you steal once (even to feed) your views may get twisted as to where you can justify stealing anything just because you "THINK" you need it. I would ask first or offer to work, then if that didn't work I would probably steal to feed my family.

Under the most dire of circumstances, of course I would steal it. Anyone would. If you're starving, you're going to be so beyond desperate that you will do anything for food.

Even if we weren't technically starving, but had no means of buying food, I would still do just about whatever I could, but stealing would be one of the last things I would attempt. Around here, there is plenty of food to be had since it's a heavily wooded area. So, as long as I wasn't too weak, I would be trying to hunt and fish for my food first.

It wouldn't be my first course of action, but if starvation is around the corner, yeah I'd do it.
While I wouldn't admonish someone who refuses, I'd certainly try to reason with 'em.

Probably not steal. I would try to explain the situation to as many bakers as I could find until I got some free bread. Maybe cut a deal for some daily chores for them in order to give me just enough bread for my family needs. If nobody was willing to give me anything then I will have nothing to lose so.... steal.
