Since we have a "Best Game opening scene" thread already, why not add this one...

First time I played Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater on the PS2 I was hypnotized by the title screen and that music track by Harry Gregson Williams.

Every time I played the game I spent like 5 minutes checking that damn screen ^^

Games 2 through 6 of the 仙剑奇侠传 series all have great title screens. I could only find an upload for game 3.5, though.

Bethesda and Arkane Studios did great. Love the music.
The heart telling you stuff in game was an unique concept.

Batman Arkham City takes my vote. The menu is awesome and the music is superb. This is a great thread, by the way. Good job!

I couldn't find a video with the title screen, but I like the one from S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl just for the song.

Someone mentioned it before but Ori and the Blind Forest is my pick. It's just to pretty to click away.

Tie between Max Payne 3 and DmC. The music just does it for me.

Darkwood but only because that music is so serenely unsettled. It really takes me back to some of the feel of my lucid nightmares as a kid. Horror games not relying on startles and trying to be original is a rarity, so I guess I'm biased too.

That beat is awesome. I do want to try that game on a near future.

The developers actually released the game for free as a legit torrent, under the request that if you enjoyed the game enough, that you purchase a copy. Their reasoning was that people can't always afford the money to risk a purchase of something they're not sure about, and they wanted their game to be enjoyed after its long stretch in early access. Admittedly they agree with the fans that the combat aspect doesn't hold up in the late game nighttime base defense stuff, but the game is pretty damn juicy for a slow-burn horror.

If you do pick it up, I would suggest a few runs with permadeath, and then switch to normal mode. I can't see how anyone would blind-play this game and survive without the ability to respawn.

Kingdom Hearts was my first answer, but I also remember as a child turning on my ps2 and letting the menu screen of Final Fantasy 10-2 play while I did my homework. Eternity -Memory of Lightwaves- is a beautiful song c:

I honestly can't pick between LoZ: The Wind Waker and Final Fantasy VIII. Technically the second one's an intro that plays when you start up the game and when you idle too long on the title screen, but I had to include it even if it doesn't properly count.
They were both such big parts of my childhood, and I even vaguely remember turning on FFVIII once and just sitting and listening to the intro so long that I actually fell asleep. Both games have such wonderful soundtracks. <3

Already gave an answer 5 months ago, but for a newer game the whole title/menu system of SUPERHOT i really enjoyed. I grew up in the early '90s BBS "scene" and it really gave me nostalgia.
