I've recently had this nagging idea about a game called "DUDEBRO", in which you play as a super generic modern military FPS soldier guy, who, as expected, runs about as slow as he walks and can't jump over obstacles.

The beginning of the game goes through all the cliches (vaguely Russian enemies in some Cold War thing, brown and bloom, QTEs, etc) and pokes fun at the shooting genre, in that at one point you can't climb a ledge and jumping doesn't work either, then 5 seconds later a giant "PRESS SPACE TO MANTLE" prompt appears.

Generic superweapon plot stuff happens, but then things screw up and our character is sucked out of the brown and bloom world and into a bright colorful cartoonish world (something like Fez or Super Mario Sunshine is what I'm saying), where someone explains that the boundaries between game genres are falling apart shortly before being killed by some kind of monster out of a survival horror genre.

The rest of the game is our generic military guy trying to save the world, getting stumped by ludicrously easy puzzles (think the Half Life 2 physics lever puzzles) because he can't pick up items, and meeting up with various different characters/artstyles and so on. Basically mashing together random elements of different genres, like speedometers and GPS lines randomly showing up on the HUD, which changes frequently.

At the end of the game it turns into a flight simulator of some sort and he crashes out of the skybox then clips through the floor, landing in "Development Hell", where the game transitions to a Diablo-type sort of gameplay before he defeats the final boss, who's been smashing game genres together in an attempt to cause another video game industry crash.

The end.

My game would be about a person who goes about marking the location of mines by detecting their counts in an area.

Throw GTA, Sims and some zombies in the mix. Think a Saints Row without the retarded jokes, or maybe put even more.
