So I read the reviews on steam for Deus Ex:HR Director's Cut version and many of them said that the original version was much better and had less bugs. I want to know where I can find the original version which I can activate on steam (because I am an achievement whore).

Thanks a bunch.

Sadly a fair number of people experience technical issues when running the directors cut that they don't experience in the original version. Changes were made to the engine for improving textures as a feature, and it turned out buggy for some. Also (cut and paste)

The Director's Cut has the following new features

New game+ (Only Augmentations carry over)
Improved Textures
Reworked Bosses
45 Minute Documentary
Around 8 hours of commentary from Eidos Montreal
Can have two energy cell recharge by default on all but the hardest difficulty
Players can now use Jensen’s augmentation powers more freely

lol :D
ok Sleeping dogs also had high-res textures added and stuff so is it a different game? No, it's just a regular GOTY except it's "the definitive edition" or "director's cut"
and seriously have you played it? The boss fights in DC are pretty much the same thing except now they added some turrets in the Barret fight, that's it. Anyway, the point is that no matter how you perceive the game as different or not, it still doesn't make any sense to look for the original release.

I may be wrong but when they launched the game i remember reading on the forum that the DC edition was a port from the WII U version; because of this it has less graphic options and kept a few bugs that were fixed in the original.

It was ported from the unpatched version of the original game. The original version did have all the same issues as the DC at one point.

Actually, DC has improved features and what-have-you put into it. It IS a different game so-to-speak.

If you consider it a different game then it must be difference for the better, not the worse, so looking for the original game is actually quite pointless anyway

It is better(even though I haven't played it but I've read the differences from the forums). I've always had the non-DC version so the biggest difference I'd say would be the bosses, I think.

As someone who has owned both, I can honestly say that the Director's Cut is the way to go.

Can you elaborate please?

Not that guy - but the way I understand it the DC has a documentary, commentary and other stuff that doesn't affect gameplay. It has the Missing Link DLC and modified boss fights, which is maybe most important as those were pretty unbalanced for certain character builds in the original and could make progress very difficult depending on your choices. But it may well also make no difference depending on your playstyle.

Unfortunately the DC is also a lot buggier. I heard it was based on an earlier unpatched build of the game. Which sounds crazy but makes sense having played them.

Pros and cons for both - it is your call.

I havent actually experienced any bugs in my playthrough of the game. None that are particularly major. The only issue I had was an enemy dying from my Tranquilizers due to how he ragdolled on a couch. I was doing a pacifist playthrough, so I had many quick-saves prior to this point, so I was able to remedy that issue myself.

I have both Directors Cut and Deus Ex Human Revolution + Missing Link. From my experience DC has a lot of issues that the original doesnt, runs really bad compared wth the original, textures looks a little worse and I (personally) didnt liked they removes the golden estetic. Mission Link has the same issues of DC, so consider this. There are a lot of fixes over there but at least for me none worked. If you want to give it a try to DC (works fine for a lot of people, maybe not for me because mine is laptop, with good specs, but a laptop), but if you dont wat to take any risks go for vanilla Human Revolution, extras doesnt really seem to worth it (except for Missing Link but that one runs bad as DLC and DC).

I don't care for the missing link DLC, in fact, I want to buy Deus Ex for my PC because I had it on my PS3 (which is now dead), I didn't really understand the story and I was planning to play it again, so I decided to buy it for my PC.

Ok, if you want the vanilla version go to trades (Steamtrades), some people sell it cheap, for like 1TF2 key.

Nice, I guess that would be better than using some third party key selling website, thanks for the advice man, i appreciate it.
