lol it was meant more as a compliment for ipax but yeah two multiplayer games, one broken and abandoned... not exactly the stuff of dreams.
I know, I know. Gift horse and all but still, feels like that episode of Seinfeld with someone gives Jerry a label maker as a gift they had gotten as a gift from someone else. Low effort.

Ah nice my Bday. You think it will be one game or a week or two?

Not sure. It is supposed to kick-off the MEGA sale, but I don't know more.

According to this post on reddit there are 130 countries that are blacklisted. Various comments in the thread suggest it's because of anti-gambling laws in those countries.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, that makes sense, didn't know my country had such a law. Probably more likely since I'm from the Caribbean they just bulk all the islands together if even one of them had a gambling ban. Anyway, thanks for the info man. Much appreciated clarity.

I just wanna play the game. It's quite an expensive game, even on sale. So getting to play this for free sounds great to me. With or without achievements. But different people, different priorities I guess. I hope for you it'll have achievements.

Thanks, you mean a phone app? I didn't used to be a smartphone user (who do i have to call?) But when i move next week i have to learn to keep it constantly on anyway since i will not get a landline (for some reason mobile is cheaper these days).
Comment has been collapsed.
Yup, it's a smartphone app. Well, in this case you might enjoy using google calendar. It is a native application (it is already installed at the factory) and is very intuitive. Taking into account that you intend to start getting used to a smartphone, I think it becomes even more interesting to start using the pre-installed applications as a way of practicing.
And if you allow me an extra suggestion, when you have the smartphone in your hands, (assuming you will still provide one) always try to leave the volume for calls at maximum. Personally, I'm also not very fond of using smartphones and the most common thing is that I end up losing it somewhere in the house, (more often than I would like lol) and it ends up helping me intensely to find it when someone extremely loud sound is being played.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah and you always have to watch having it charged, and oh my biggest gripe when you forget to turn it off when you go to sleep, and some people write something on whatsapp and you get a sound and bam you are awake, i mean at a certain point and if it's something important offcourse call, but not some whatsapp thing that can wait.
You can probably turn it off somewhere i imagine, but then during the day it would be handy to have a sound.
Comment has been collapsed.
I absolutely understand what you mean. I have the concentration of a goldfish, and few things bother me as much as the time when I need to write a report or equivalent document and suddenly my smartphone starts ringing or vibrating because I got some trivial message.
For this reason, I started to deactivate the whatsapp message alert/alarm and leave a notice under my profile picture asking that it is an emergency that people call or send me an SMS (I did not deactivate the alarm on this considering they are extremely rare) and sporadically peek to make sure I haven't missed anything important.
It's certainly not the best possible solution, but it's what I managed to do.

Android has a 'Bedtime mode' that silences everything except alarms and calls from favourite contacts. It automatically turns on / off based on a schedule - useful if you have a regular sleep schedule.

Late reply but I think I have only missed once before. It was when I got a new computer and I was sure that I reedemed the game before replacing it and I realized I was wrong the day after. Funny how I think its slightly anoying when Im well aware that I will probably never play any of the free Epic games that I redeem every week :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Well same, i rather play them on steam (and even then try playing 11000 games) so i have not played one game on Epic, and eventually you might get more repeats too.
If i knew Kingdom Hearts will never come to steam i would buy it there, but i still hope it's a matter of time (even it's longer then 2 years).

ew just tried installing it in hopes it would tell me i already have it installed. and it tries to install "Origin" which is discontinued instead of just opening the EA app. super annoying. i just want these dlc to activate on my EA account lol
Comment has been collapsed.
For me, it was the other way around. I don't have the EA App installed, and had been avoiding it all year (I tried it when the install was forced in my system and it was a disaster). I went back to Origin and is still working fine (with a couple of easy tricks). I already had The Sims 4 and only wanted to add the extra add-ons (Origin allows that when adding more than one copy of the same game with new add-ons; different add-ons are then added to all the copies of the same game).
But when I tried to install The Sims 4 from Epic last week (to add the new content as both accounts are linked), the Epic launcher kept trying to install the EA App, no matter what I tried, even though Origin was already up and running. So I gave up.
Today, just checking for something in the Origin launcher, I noticed that the new copy of The Sims 4 from Epic was added automatically, and it also added the new add-ons to the old copy... with me doing nothing about it since last week when nothing could be done to add it and/or install it, due to the Epic launcher trying to install the EA App.
My guess, maybe that happened because both accounts are linked (Epic & Origin/EA) for me, and was added automatically at some point since then and today. You should try again. Maybe check again the EA App and if it's not there, keep it open and then check the Epic launcher to try to add it and install it from there...

Symbols match. Would be a repeat from last Christmas giveaways. Hopefully game #2 hasn't been given away yet.
Comment has been collapsed.
You are welcome. For info, some people say the three hints may be for other weeks, because i) the vault does not unlock with this combination this week, and ii) the symbols are circled in red. See the video. So this would mean that a few of the other hints would be for this week, and that would hint at a repeated giveaway of Death Stranding, because most of the hints are for Death Stranding.
My belief is that this hint will be for a game in the Oddworld franchise.

Dang, just found out about Kao being free since I never check the Epic store anymore. Been hesitant to buy it due to the very so-so reviews but it looks fun.
Comment has been collapsed.
Currently playing it, nice game but overpriced at 30 euros on base price imo, pretty close to the first Yooka-Laylee, only big minus it that game don't save checkpoint progression in a level, you have to finish a full level without closing the game and each level are pretty long (15 minutes - 45 minutes long each).
Take around 6-10 hours for completing the game (only main progression).

Thanks for the reminder! I somehow forgot about Epic for two whole weeks, and missed last week's giveaways completely. First time since the original giveaway of Celeste (week 30). Might have missed a Christmas giveaway too, for Celeste again, interestingly!!

Pretty awesome! I'll likely get to a game or two on there myself, someday. I almost bought The Witcher when it was on sale +$10 coupon they were giving away, but then they lowered the price of the game by one cent to make it ineligible. Remedy has some cool games, like... Control (yep you knew that already due to your profile pic ^^)

Well, that sucks.

Oh, yes. I’ve loved Remedy for nearly twenty years, ever since I played Max Payne for the first time. I’m a huge fan! I wrote some stuff about Control, here, if you feel like reading. You may also find this interesting. (:

Really liked the writeups. I also enjoy playing games that are an experience, not just a endless grind. I tell ya, when I played Control, and I was a little altered, and the room changing section came into play, I was completely floored, it was just epic.
Another reason I try and avoid as much info as possible about game details, so I can have cool experiences like that without being expected.
Also enjoyed the writeup of the games by year. Love it!

Same here. I get free games through the browser as my weekly routine, never even downloaded their client.
