I have the same problem as you with Fallout 3/New Vegas. I don't like the grey Fallout 3 graphics and the brown Fallout New Vegas graphics. I have found most of the quests I've played to be boring but I've only played a couple of hours.
I like the Fallout 4 graphics and the quests seem more interesting from what I've seen in the leaked videos so I'll probably get it.
I'm more hyped for other games though, titles like Dishonored 2, South Park: The Fractured But Whole and No Man's Sky

I don't care one bit about Fallout (either one) and I'm honestly annoyed about the hype this game is generating, because every second 9gag post (a place where I want to see things that make me laugh) is swamped with unfunny fallout posts. yawn
I wish it will suck, but knowing Bethesda they haven't forgotten about how to release a good game, contrary to all other major publishers. But they're a greedy bunch.
I'd try New Vegas if I'd won it in a giveaway though.

I played Fallout 3 and I wasn't really pulled into it. Part of it was due to the FOV and the headaches I'd get. Aside from that, I think it's a combination of the post apocalyptic genre, sandbox, and fps that I don't like. When it comes to certain genres, I prefer to stick to movies and television shows. The post apocalyptic and horror genres I enjoy films but not the video games. I realize I'm probably weird like that. In regards to sandbox games, I really liked Skyrim and The Witcher 3 but even then it gets to a point where there's so much to do that it's overwhelming in a way.

If you liked Fallout 1 and 2, then you should give New Vegas a chance, since it's the same dev team, and they used up quite a few ideas from Van Buren… or, more precisely, New Vegas is almost a sequel to the never-released Van Buren. You just have to survive using Bethesda's ancient engine and dumbed down SPECIAL system, which Obsidian tried to rebalance and give some actual meat to it, but in the end they had to rely on focusing the writing to give it some real Fallout feeling.

Well I personally love Fallout so i do agree that there is something wrong with you :P Thank you for giveaways though :)

Nope, you're not, i don't care about it one bit. I played FO 3 back when it came out, still have my retail copy somewhere around the house, it was one of the most boring games i'v ever played and, having actually played the original games unlike most people who sang(and still sing) it's praises, i was terribly disappointed. There was literally nothing to suck you into the world, just badly scripted enemies and the same blandness everywhere you went. You can imagine how much of a shock this was to me since i was a big Elder Scrolls fan back then and it was basically postapocalyptic ES, but nope, it had none of the charm the ES games had, none of the immersion, it felt as soulless as the scenery. NV was better but that's only because it was developed by Obsidian, i don't care for another Bethesda snooze fest that will need fans to fix all the bugs and make it an actually enjoyable experience.

I've loved Fallout and Fallout 2, but I didn't like so much FO3: it has something wrong, I couldn't like it so much. I've finished it, with many DLCs, but nothing. A very good game, but nothing so interesting.
Oh, and I didn't like the combat system AT ALL.
From what I see, FO4 is very similar to FO3, so probably I won't like it too.
Pity!

nah, I wouldn't consider myself to be all that excited about it either. For now it's more of a thing that I'll try out eventually. To be fair, next week is gonna be incredibly busy for me so I won't have time, and december 1 another open-world game that I honestly am "all that excited about" launches (JC3 for those wondering) so I will probably think about fallout when I'm done with that one, unless that takes me all the way into february for that's when DE:MD launches... in other words: I'm way too busy to be excited about FO4, and it is something I want to put some time and effort into playing. So for now, it's just gonna take a high spot in my (considerable) backlog.
Not to mention Bethesda doesn't have the cleanest record when it comes to releasing games bugfree, but they've so far proven to be good about fixing that, so my waiting is probably gonna improve my enjoyment.
Update: unless I win it on SG of course, which is gonna feel like rolling a 7 on a D6 and then I move it up to the top, deal?!

Never played the series and while I'm not super hype for the game, I am interested to see what all the fuss is about. It helps that I got my copy during that GMG price glitch because otherwise, I probably wouldn't have picked up a copy till a price drop or a great sale.

I haven't played any of them, except probably 20 min of the first or second 10 years ago. Don't plan on starting now.

Well, I see that you've played Skyrim quite a bit so the open world, no railed guide wouldn't bother you... Idk, you say you never played it more than an hour, does that mean every time you retry you rego through all the creating and stuff? Maybe you feel overwhelmed cause there is too much to do and don't want to wait for results?

I have only played Fallout 3 and had an awesome time. I'm not really a big fan of RPG's but that one I enjoyed. Can't wait to play Fallout: New Vegas.
I own Fallout 2 and hope to play it in the near future because I've heard a lot of great things about it.

I can't say I would be truly excited, be it Fallout 4, Half-Life 3 or Cyberpunk 2077 coming out tomorrow, but I'd like to play it. I spent many hours in each one of the games in the franchise by walking, searching, trying different scenarios, and what I love the most about the series is the fact I can always replay these games more than once or twice, and did not lose any interest. Big open world with tons of junk lying around is very relaxing for me =)
P.S.

I've only played the first 2 entries in the series, although I do own the rest...many times over (digital and physical copies). I just can't bring myself to play 3 or New Vegas more than an hour or so.
Maybe it's the setting? -shrug- I dunno. I could never pin it down to an exact reason.
Maybe I'm more excited about other games coming out this year or early next year? Xenoblade Chronicles X is coming next month.
Maybe I'm in a gaming slump, where nothing appeals to me until I get out of it?
WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME, GUYS?!
