Apparently a lot of people aren't happy about it. Perhaps that volume could be because of the other two sales going on too though.

And I just got this back...

Hi there,
I understand your frustration in the confusion that arose with this all to charity promotion. Unfortunately, while it is regrettable that product you purchased is not quite what you had thought it was originally, we will be unable to offer you the games at your current purchase level. We can refund your purchase if you desire.
Thank you for your support,
Thomas

I mean, I'm not going to take back my donation, but I'm still disappointed about this whole fiasco.

that had a pretty decent offer on minimum, though.
The minimum on this one is 25$ for the games(and 1$ for a tf2 item :lol)
By beating some records I mean that it will be one of the humble bundles with the lowest sales evah

My bit.
These guys (HB staff) work and have worked for quite a while to offer amazing bundles to all of us. I am personally grateful to them, without HB my library would be half the size it is today, and many are amazing games I got for a tiny fraction of their retail price. On top, charities are able to help more people thanks to the donations they collect.
This time they seem to have done a mistake that goes as far as not marking a work-in-progress page as not-for-public-view, for a limited time.
Some users may have guessed the offer was unlikely to be true (was the page not directly linked in the main HB page? that would have been quite a clue), others maybe haven't. Regardless, it's now clear it was a mistake.
It looks like they're confirming you'll get a refund if you want. Which means they'll fork out themselves all the transaction commissions, btw. How about giving these guys a break? They got it wrong, once, for a short while. Not big deal. Above all for those who splashed few cents only, which would go to charity anyway.
I know it can be disappointing that the bundle is not what it looked like, but com'on it's not like you got your life fucked up because of it, right?
And remember Santa is coming, be good if you don't want to receive coal ;)

I do not understand these idiots who buy through a link that was not officially published and was incomplete ... Really? Why are you blaming them for a mistake that is yours? You should expect the link to be officially released for them to then be able to buy, simple. Stop talking bullshit and bother them with emails, if you are not happy ask them to refund...

+1
saw a lot of people trying to exploit and 'pay what they want' for unguaranteed and undescribed games guarantee, running on assumptions. and when they assume wrong, they act like 'I paid $1 for this sh*t, i dont get my games, you g0ddamn liars!!! i want at least something for my hard-earned money, a skyrim at least'
seeing exploiters feeling entitled for their failed exploit attempts feels like looking at those pirates asking for help on how to get past that undying scorpion in the official ss3 forums.

That's complete nonsense. The site did say pay what you want, the site was a regular website anyone could access and the games were in the description. It even said there would be a reward (keys) for early participants. Maybe look at the screenshot? The only thing that could make you believe something wasn't right was the video from the WB bundle. No idea what that has to do with 'exploiting'. Comparing people who paid money for something that was advertised to people pirating games is so ridiculous I don't even need to explain it.
Even if it's only a few dollars and even if some of it goes to charity - they messed it up, not the people who bought the bundle. You can't advertise a Ferrari and then say 'Oh, sorry, you only get a crappy second hand car'. Even if some of the money goes to charity and even if the amount of money involved is very small. What people like you also forget is that Humble Bundle Inc. is a company that makes profit. And lots of it. They don't do this because they're super nice people who want to help charity. That's just a side effect.
In the end you could say it's not worth making a fuss about a few dollars, but it's not right either. They should at the very least automatically refund people who bought the 'bundle'. Period.

I didn't saw any link released by Humble Bundle officially.... If you go to a link for a page that's is not even finished of course that is your fault... in the print screen you can't even see the games icon... the second video was about an old humble bundle...
The person who post the link also said "dont buy it", so why did you bought it? This is for you learn to not be stupid and waiting until the link get posted in their website and officialy opened for for sell. If you can't found the link in the main page is because you shouldn't seen and if you somehow found a link for something that you are not sure if is already working you should ask them.

Yeah, just like you are a [insert a bunch of childish insults here] if you buy something that is cheap and then don't get what you paid for. What a weird attitude, guess you are the typical HB fanboy who believes the 'all for charity <3' marketing nonsense. I just bought the bundle just like any other bundle and I wanted to be one of the 'early participants' they were talking about in the text (again, at least look at the screenshot if you didn't see the page itself before you talk nonsense), greed had nothing to do with it. I won't even ask for a refund as it's not worth the effort for the small amount of money spent, but it's clearly not right what they did.

Stop crying pls... If you want to be an early participants just waiting until they post the link in their website officially and buy in the first day, simple.
I don't care if is not just for charity, even though you are paying way less than the original price you had tried to take advantage and that's is not cool at all. I saw the Print screen more than once and still looks like an unfinished page, simple.

You started crying, remember? Just look a few posts up, it's you who started this. I only replied to your whiny post that came out of nowhere. You didn't even reply to someone, guess you just wanted to be seen as the White Paladin of Gaming who looks down on the people who bought the bundle early? What did I take advantage of? They said 'early participants' get keys, that was a valid offer. I'm terribly sorry for trying to take advantage of that and being 'greedy'. That's super evil. I guess you are the guy who buys games at full price all the time because you can't live with the thought of taking advantage of something. Ridiculous.

Most of my games or was in sale or was for bundle... what are you talking about?
Pls you know that is your fault.

If you have to do research every time you buy something from a well known Internet shop then there is something wrong with the Internet shop. If I see a game that normally costs 60$ for 1$ on Amazon I don't think 'oh, there is something not right, I can't buy it now!'. I buy it. And guess what? If there was indeed something wrong with it and Amazon messed it up I still get the game I paid for. And that's how it should be. It is not 'stupid' and not my fault. The only thing that is stupid is that I don't get what I paid for. I don't care about the small amount of money I spent and I don't care about not getting the games (didn't want any of them that badly anyway), it's just a matter of equity. The customer should not be punished for false advertising, that's just wrong.
Comment has been collapsed.
the post was clear.. "NOT LIVE YET, DON'T BUY IT."
They are trying be nice and give to these stupid people something, but you know that could be way easier for them just apologize for the mistake and refund everybody. So you should be happy that you pay almost nothing and get something.
don't be stupid next time and wait....

If you buy all the games for 75% off, it wont be even 25$ -__-
Comment has been collapsed.
Except Magicka: Wizard Wars which just recently came out on Early Access and has only been 50% off as far as the Steam store goes. I did the math, and if you take the other games at 75% off it comes to $27.75, so I think it's perfectly reasonable.

How dare those greedy scumbags not give us $100+ of games for $1! How dare those monsters expect me to pay one cent over $1 for charity! Me me me me me me me me me!
Comment has been collapsed.
It's not a good way for devs and charities to make money if everyone pays $1 and gets everything. That's why they're setting the minimum to $25, which they wouldn't have to do if most people gave more than $1 if they weren't forced to. I have no idea about the mimimi thing, I just put mes because that's all most people want to think about.
Comment has been collapsed.
I realize that there are normally different tiers for most bundle. I just think it's ridiculous for people to only be willing to pay the bare minimum of $1 for fantastic games.
Comment has been collapsed.
Its also not a good way to make money to have the minimum set at 25$. Purchases will be exponentially lower.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's better for devs to sell 1,000 bundles at $25 than to sell 1,000,000 at $1 and have their games traded for almost nothing a year later. I know this one's purely for charity, but that's why the devs are willing to give away their games. They know there won't be millions of copies floating around after the bundle.
Comment has been collapsed.
i'm afraid that's completely incorrect, the reason behind the tiers is having people who can't afford to pay X amount of money get the lower tier and pay less, and even then someone might still pay more than X just because he thinks it deserves it.
yes most people end up paying $1 but if you look at the total revenue previous HiB made you'll know that it's still an amazing way to get tons of money for both devs and developers.
as stated by others the games sold on bundles are usually games that don't sell all that much so the slightest extra sales even if it's $1 gets more money to the devs than they would have got for -75% sale on that game.
Comment has been collapsed.
When people could buy a bundle for literally one cent, that's what a lot of them picked. One penny. It has nothing to do with being poor, a lot of people are just greedy. They have fantastic selling games in the big bundles, most of them aren't hurting for sale. In just the HIB9 alone there was Fez, FTL, Bastion, Limbo, and Mark of the Ninja. The small games were probably helped out by the sales, but when big games go into bundles their sales are going to drop for about a year because of people reselling the keys.
When you divide $1 between about ten devs, not even taking into account Humble Bundle itself or the charities, that's $0.10 for each developer. That would mean they would only have to sell 1 copy of a $10 game for every 100 bundles sold.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes while that is true you can't deny the fact that selling hundreds of thousands of bundles even when a good portion of them are sold for $1 still gets the developers more money than it would have got them trying to sell those games on their own.
I am not trying to encourage buying bundles for $1 only i'm merely saying I understand that some people can only spend that much, i am not denying the fact that there are many greedy ones out there.

Very entertaining thread, would read again 10/10.
Joking aside, if I stumble across a goddamn page that is CLEARLY incomplete/WIP (and not officially accessible, by the way), common sense tells me to wait a tiny bit before sending the cash in.
Comment has been collapsed.
I agree with this. The situation would be different if the page had been publicly launched. As it was/is now, there was only an incomplete page with several things that were bound to change. I'm big on consumer rights but you really are the one to blame if you decided to throw money at that.
Considering that Humble Bundle seems even willing to give the money back, there isn't really any reason to pout or complain. Whether the $25 is an appropriate amount, that is a whole another subject.

Yes. Cute how they:
You never quite know if to laugh or cry about this type of persons.

It was linked to by other websites. I found it on Facebook through a page call EpicBundles that aggregates bundles. I just clicked the link and there it was.

But you saw that the page had the wrong videos, no packshots and so? And neither the Newsletter nor HBs Twitter/Facebook said anything about a bundle. Even the fact that a main AND a weekly bundle are still in place? Sorry but this link of yours could have been a phising site or a complete fake by the look of the screenshots.
Even if it were a real bundle. What made you think that you had to buy it in the second you saw it? It's not that there is a bundles sold limit.

I was thinking about getting the Heart of Gold for 1USD.
But 5USD for a single misc? No, thanks.

The one dollar was just for people who bought it during the period when it was mistakenly up. At least it gives my one dollar purchase a little prestige haha.
