I couldn't help but consider the comet an added metaphor; a form of escape from reality. Also, every time you finished each segment of the story, you were brought back to the beautiful Waltzer music in the hub world (planetarium) which just helped enhance that emotion: a fantasy, a dream.

red dead redemption and final fantasy 7 crisis core

Earthbound, Final Fantasy VIII, Braid, Zelda WW, Grim Fandango, Shenmue II, Soul Reaver 2, Metal Gear Solid.

The Darkness (The first game, not the second.) The ending in the first game made me cry, actually. >.>

I believe Deus Ex: Human Revolution made me feel quite emotional at times.

Mass Effect, the games are pretty emotional (and yes, I almost cried when it ended)

Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect 1 and 3, Skyrim and all the Assassins Creed Games

Portal ..both and Mass Effect.the death of each squadmate in 3 who you have been with in 3 games is hard.

Red Dead Redemption by far the saddest ending i have played through

GTA IV, Binding of Isaac, Portal 2.

mgs2 and 4. if you dont at least get somewhat emotional in these 2 games, you're not human.
