Binary domain: for me was the best game for a while and then I played Metro Last Light and that my friends is the game of the year. Resident evil 5 is pretty fun to me. Remember me is quite cool. I liked The Darkness 2 a lot too. And that's it :)

Strongly recommend you try, or at least look up the Legacy of Kain Saga.

Final Fantasy 7! It's on steam now. Best story line I've ever played.

"was kind of my first JRPG"
...and that's why you and everyone else online who is still a fanboy to this day are obsessed with FF7 when earlier ones were clearly better. I started with FF1, but I wouldn't say it's the best, it was special at the time though. I even liked 10 which still is popular and just got a re-release.

well, i said that in order to let people know that everyone loves their first game of their favourites genr, FPS fans who's first game was CS 1.6 still love it until now (like me)
Of course that's one reason one would love that game, but i'm sure that there are people who played others JRPG before FF7 and still think that 7 is the best one, there's nothing wrong about it, even if you say earlier ones are better, nothing's gonna change, it's a fact that there are a lot of FF7 fans, so there are of FF6 and X

I say Bastion. An amazing game by my opinion and the plot is so odd and creative.

I like how you use "authors" to refer to 2 different developer companies who had, who knows who doing the writing in each of those games.

i'd say The Darkness games have a pretty good storyline. i really loved playing them :) (did so on a ps3 though)
and seeing as you really enjoyed the Mass Effect series, why not try your hand at that other awesome series from bioware? (Dragon age)

a game that received love and hate equally: "Final Fantasy VII" - the only other game besides that one, that actually managed to make me think "OMFG - the main bad guy is gonna regret the day he was coded by the developers!!! D:" was "Borderlands 2".
but the PC version sux in my opinion, mainly because of the music.
"Cry of Fear" (free to download on steam) and "Thomas was alone" also had nice story lines, especially the latter one...how the creator gave a bunch of simple geometric shapes so much character is just awesome.

cry of fear was interesting, aside from the beginning :3

Being part of the "PC Master Race" means having the ability to have your games "your way", and actually doing it. There are various mods/fixes online for the music in FF7 PC.

I haven't played a good game in awhile, and the summer break is ending soon. That being said, I'd like to play a good game before going back to college and work. So please, if you could tell me of a game with a really good storyline, please do. ( For the record, I really enjoyed the Mass Effect Trilogy, even with the original ending; Mention: The game has to be available on PC )
