Just out of curiosity, if you use the gifting feature rather than revealing the key yourself and then sending said key, is it still locked to the region where you bought it?

Yup, I just claimed a gift link to my email that is restricted in my country and when I clicked the button to reveal the key from the link sent to my email, Humble gave me a warning saying that the game is region restricted and I may not be able to activate the key. There is an option to continue and reveal the key or cancel.
