I suggest Starcraft there is all kinds of arcade custem games to play if your intersted in that. You can play all differnt kinds so many to choose from some might be harder to find players more than others.. The campaign is fun as well. As with somebody else said ive played over 600 hours and still play it reguraly and plan to buy HOTS on release.

Do you like RTS games? If so, yes. It is a very good RTS games, especially since there aren't a huge number of them out there. If you like hardcore strategy, go Total War, but if you like classic RTS like C&C and Starcraft, then of course you should buy it at whatever price you find reasonable.

I wouldn't give Blizzard money at this time.
Splitting up the SC2 campaigns was a BS move, not that it seems the campaigns are all that good to begin with (seriously, WoL is a snoozefest). It's just a moneygrab, and if you PAY THEM, then you are REWARDING THIS. They will do it more in the future. Other companies will do it too. Pretty soon you'll be buying each level separately and your cumulative game price will go up to $120.
Blizzard is just kind of a scummy company anymore. World of Warcraft has ruined them. Look at the games they made before that. Starcraft 1 and Broodwars, undeniably some of the best RTS games of all time. SC2 is a cheap imitation in comparison. Look at the difference in quality between Diablo II and Diablo III. It's like a completely different company made them. I used to LOVE Blizzard; they made the best games. These days, their work is slow, buggy, half-built with parts missing that you can buy separately, money grubbing... have I mention the terrible UI?
Recent patches to SC2 broke user-made mods. I had a colorblind mod (helped with building placements, made team colors more distinct, etc). The game is practically unplayable without it, at least multiplayer is. It takes me so long to place buildings since I can't see valid vs invalid locations... and I'm dead. The default SC2 interface looks like it was made not by someone unaware of colorblindness, but by someone who hates the colorblind and wants them to suffer. Anyway, there are mods to fix this by editing the graphical tiles. Well, Blizzard put a stop to that with patch updates. Did I mention they really HATE the colorblind?
SC2 is not worth buying. Blizzard is not worth paying.

It's all up to personal taste, you shouldn't discourage anyone from buying any games, just because you think they changed after World of Warcraft. Many people still love WoW, still love Starcraft 2, and still love Diablo 3. Just because you hear a lot of badmouthing, or just happen to be one of those cynical people who think "everything was better back then", you really don't need to spread that attitude, we have too much of it already. Judge the game, not the company.
Starcraft 2 may be split into 3 parts, but even Wings of Liberty has a finely crafted 30 hours+ campaign, with multiplayer, custom maps, custom games even, and then the upcoming DotA alike game is coming too. The game is MORE than worth the price, especially since it dropped a bit. I bought mine for 26 Euros not long ago. And just because you have color blindness, which isn't all that widespread of a "handicap", you shouldn't instantly assume they hate you. You can't be serious.
Eh...

If you enjoyed the previous Starcraft series, then it's a definite yes.

I bought it about a year ago, had some fun with it, story is nice, multiplayer is hard, haven't tried those mods and stuff really, only a few. But yea at this point its a good price for the game whatever the price is :)
Not sure what way this game is going with HotS and their thoughts about becoming F2p. I think the game will become rubish with the time just as everything else Activision has in their hands
