RAW FOOTAGE is game where you need to record the monster for certain amount of time. So it's not photographs, but video, but still device is camera.

DuckTales: The Quest for Gold had missions where you have to take photographs of wild animals

Probably an honourable mention for Nethack
One of the character classes you can pick is the Tourist. He is weak in combat, so when he encounters a monster he can take a photo with his Expensive Camera, then run away while the monster is dazzled by the flash.

well i think its a game with photograh element, not that the protagonist have one, or that you have to take photos.
but, in devil may cry 5, on hard difficulty and ng+ when you beat a new monster/boss a funny photo apears on the screen, and you can look to them on gallery

Well in Watch Dogs Legion you have a photo booth to take pictures of your team and you can take photos among the city using a reporter drone, sometimes you even need to take a photo of pieces of evidence with a drone to progress the mission

I have a game that fits the criteria really well, it's a game I've had the pleasure of winning in here about a year ago.
It's called Umurangi Generation
This game is all about photography, combined with a hidden-object approach to finding the right subjects and angles to photograph them.
The world and its story are expressed through the artworks and the level designs and it makes for a really compelling experience.

In Return to Zork you take photos of everywhere you go and everyone you meet, and need to use those photos whenever you want to ask someone about a place or person.
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City probably deserves an honourable mention; it has a mission where you take blackmail photos
There's a little mistake on the list. DuckTales: The Quest for Gold was for PC/DOS, and was never released for NES or Gameboy. There was a completely different Ducktales game for NES though, but that one didn't have photography.

In Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, there are extra ops Ghost Photography, Paparazzi, Date with Paz.
In Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, there are alternative missions Photograph Mode.
In Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, a main story mission is gathering photo evidence.
In Metal Gear Solid, the player can take photos of the environment, ghosts of the development team may appear on the captured images when taken in specific locations.
In Michigan, the player is a television news cameraman.

PS - general thoughts for anyone still following the thread
The formatting on this site is so different from any other BBC or similar I've used before, so I never remember it, so I find updating the main post irritating, so that's my rationale for that.
I thought about updating the table to take out Steam games to make it less confusing, but the crediting would go with it, so i decided not to. Perhaps I can separate steam from the main table with some amendments.

[March 15 2022 Update] I'm only adding non-Steam suggestions games to the list. If the game is on Steam, I'll just add it to the Photoholics Curation. The current ones will stay for posterity of course.
As the title mentions, I'm looking for more games where taking pictures a part of the mechanics or progression to the story. Just a little thing I'm currently interested in my games, and it's not always easy to find niche ideas. So, do you know of any not listed?
Whoa. I sincerely wasn't expecting too many replies. Y'all are awesome! Thank you! ♥
I credited suggestions to the first person who mentioned the game + those who provided additional info on a previously mentioned game. Feel free to provide extra info if you see a lack of them on the table. I appreciate the enthusiasm either way.
