... Minecraft, but I guess it`s software related because I can max out Crysis 3 :)

GRID 2.
Every time I try and turn a corner the framerate craps itself. It runs ok everywhere else on lowest settings, just when turning a corner, it drops to an unplayable 12.5 fps - or freezes entirely and it's blind luck whether you get round the corner or not.
And the funny thing is, I tried the different graphics settings in the in-game benchmarking, and on every setting it ran ok on the straights and hit 12.5 fps on the corners - regardless of what setting it was on. Obviously, it ran smoother on lower settings, but it ran at above 20 fps on all settings, so the drops in the corners were really obvious.

Well, my laptop can run pretty much nothing. It's just not made for gaming, soo.
A few games are BioShock Infinite, Shadow Warrior, Crysis, Left 4 Dead 2, Saints Row The Third and IV, Far Cry 3, Alan Wake - and I'm even having problems playing Don't Starve!
So, even though my laptop runs them (at least some of them), they lag like hellll, so playing them isn't any fun at all.

My computer is a fucking tank. I have never run into a problem with any games. Only $400 dollars for the parts and I built it myself. I love my computer. I play every game I have at the max graphical settings and anti-aliasing and filtering and whatnot.

The Witcher, The Witcher 2
I have an Asus G74SX-DH72.

I wanna play it, too, but it's too CPU-intensive. Even on everything set to LOW, it will be laggy and sluggish as hell. Ironically, I can run GTA 4 on max settings fine.

About Sir, you are being hunted check this thread
A game I can't even run it's demo is Max: The Curse of Brotherhood
Comment has been collapsed.
yeah max looks like it's having problems from start-up.
Also thank you so much for the thread, i'll definitely give it a look over. Hopefully I can play that game now. It's one of those few titles I can promise to do a full let's play series of XD

Unfortunatly, anything that requires over 256 Mb of VRAM.
The list is extensive: Skyrim, MK: KE, etc.
On the plus side, if I can make it run, no matter how ugly, I will!

I'm kind of of the same way XD Though some games I just can't do it cause I feel like there's actually an advantage to having those settings up. Or the game looks so god-awful and shitty, it's unbearable. Or I just straight-up feel sick to my stomach playing the game with low/lowest settings :U

There are exceptions...
Burnout Paradise looks REALLY good with everything to the minimum and still runs smoothly.
I'll admit that SOMETIMES it hurts to run some games at super low settings (SR3 and/or Batman AA come to mind).
Still, I'll settle for playing the game smoothly, even if it means sacrificing graphics. Meanwhile, a good tip is to upgrade your PC (or Mac) every 5 or so years (I know I need to!).

Metro LL. On 800x600 with the lowest settings runs @ 2-3 FPS п-п

Because I want to pretend that everything will magically run on my computer because specs and all dat shiet doesn't exist. Obviously not the case. Especially now that i've got a nice little file of games i'm discovering I can't run on my computer piling up.

Because the settings are not set in stone.
You can compensate the lack of CPU power if you have a good RAM.
But, the one thing you CANNOT lack is VRAM :(

I haven't found a game in my library yet that I can't run at medium to high/ultra settings with good FPS (my monitor is only 720p, which I'm perfectly fine with, so I usually get at least 60FPS in every game, even Crysis 2)
My specs:
CPU: AMD FX-6300 (6 core, slight OC to 4.1Ghz)
GPU: MSI R7 250 2GB
RAM: 8GB G.Skill Sniper 1600Mhz (OC'd to 1733Mhz)
*Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 ATX AM3+
Monitor: HP 20" 1600x900 (720p)
Built this rig myself back in November of last year and I love it. I got the entire rig & monitor for $745USD through Newegg.com.
It's all air cooled as well, with temps that usually don't exceed 50°C at load and run about 30°C when doing basic stuff.
Edit: I forgot to list my motherboard, it's been added between RAM and Monitor*

If you just want to browse parts then I suggest pcpartpicker.com, that's where I selected all of the parts for my rig.
If you want some entry level explanations then I suggest Linus Tech Tips, they offer pretty good info and they have a good sense of humor while doing it. They also have a second channel Tech Quickie that also provides some good info and explains it in terms a layman can understand.
Other than that, honestly, I learned pretty much everything I know about PC's by simply messing around with them, i.e. taking them apart (I don't recommend you do that to any PC you plan on using again though lol), putting them back together and just running programs on them. "Most" of what you can do to a PC can be reversed if you manage to screw something up if you have a recovery disc or an actual install disc of your OS (sometimes you can even use a USB flash drive to install your OC as well), just make sure you read as much info as possible before attempting anything crazy like I've done in the past. lol
It also helps to have friends who break their PC's often, I'm always the guy that people bring broken PC's to so I've amassed a nice collection of older PC parts that I experiment with when I'm bored.

Thanks. :D
For how little I paid for the entire set up, I'm MORE than thrilled with it's performance!
The only thing really holding it back is the MSI R7 250 2GB GPU, which is supposed to be a really low end card ($93USD retail), yet it performs like a BEAST! o_O

Too right. haha :P
Honestly though, I sit about 10" to 16" away from my 1600X900 20" monitor, it's more than large enough for me. lol

All depends... Does playing a game at minimum graphics at 15-20 FPS count as "Running"?
Comment has been collapsed.
I remember this happening only 2 times with me, both when I had my first PC, one was SiN (was basically a slide-show, unplayable) and Dune 2000 (because of the VGA) and some cases when only some areas of the games caused a extreme slowness (like Baldur's Gate, one of the optional dungeons was full of kobolds and the visual effects of their fire arrows turned my PC in a snail...)

i think the last game i bought but couldn't run was diablo 2. i'm surprised to see sanctum 2 with borderlands 2 on a can't run list though!
Comment has been collapsed.
My laptop can barely run borderlands 1 at the lowest settings and 800x600 resolution.......my main computer can run everything maxed out so that's good.

It is all good, I can run bioshock infinite with everything on ultra at 1080p at over 100fps on my new rig, I was just disappointed for awhile before that.

unplayable? just playied it for like 3 hours maxed out on my grill. sorry, i meant my PC that has Core 2 Duo @3GHz and nVidia 9800GT (512 VRAM) so it's odd

How many games have you bought that you know you'd truly love the game. But you bought it and found out you can't run it. (cause looking at System Requirements is for chumps.)
For me it'd have to bbeeeeeeeee...
I
Sir, you are being hunted.
Borderlands 2(I still forced my computer to deal with it for 48 hours cause I fuckin' love borderlands man XD)
Sanctum 2
But yet I can run Bioshock Infinite with no problems whatsoever :U
Waht.
Yeah so i'm working through my backlog, so i'm sure there's a few more (like dishonored ; 3 ; (yup, I tested it today. I cannot run Dishonored XD))
What're a few of yours?
