On Nov. 8th, it will have been one year since I bought my very first bundle! Why is this significant you ask? Well, I didn't collect steam games until I discovered Humble and things have kind of gotten out of control since then XD. I figured I might as well celebrate the day when I first descended into madness :P.

Oddly enough, I first heard about bundles thanks to a Zero Punctation video where Yahtzee mentions after the credits that his book was part of a humble book bundle. If it weren't for that video, I very much doubt I would have discovered bundles and I would have probably went back to playing WoW instead of finding a whole slew of pc games that have pasted me by. Kinda weird when you think about it.

Anyways, here is the train that I promised.

Instead of bumping, please let me know how all of you found out about bundles. Kinda curious what some of the answers will be.

Edit: Forgot to add this, but my first was the Humble Indie Bundle 13.

what a massive train, i ran out of points and i think I already owned most of the games, too :) Thanks so much!

I bought the first humble bundle where the games worked on Linux, and didn't really care for the games to be honest. It was a few years later that i got my first windows gsming computer and(i use linux since the 90's) installed steam... And the rest is history.

I first learned about bundles via an online classified, as odd as that sounds. I was just looking at game listings and somebody had posted a few games for $5-$10 each. A different poster made a listing warning other people not to buy the aforementioned games because they were available for a few dollars for all of them via Humble Bundle. I checked that site out, and it's been a bundle buying nightmare since. :)

I had left Steam and gaming for a year or more, and when I came back to it, I somehow got the idea to look for opportunities for free Steam games.

Through that, of course, I found SteamGifts. I recall finding somewhere an article somebody wrote about various ways to get Steam games for cheap/free, and that included bundle sites.

One of the first free games I got was from IndieGala. I don't remember what my first bundle was, though.

My first bundle was HIB 4. I think I discovered VVVVVV a while back then, realised I could get it with a bunch of other highly acclaimed indie games (I didn't even know what were indie games before), and I never looked back.

I honestly can't quite remember how I found out about bundles... I only found out about it like 1-2 months ago, and then this website a day after or so.
I think I found out about it after searching for other websites to buy Steam games on to see if possible to find cheaper alternatives.
Found out about G2A at the same time, and I've bought a few games there hohoho.

Wish I had found out sooner... now I pretty much buy all bundles that interest me, mostly hoping for JRPG/Visual Novel bundles.

Thanks for the train, only entered one GA though, gotta leave the stuff that don't interest me to others hohoho.

I found about some site that was doing some PWYW for games that worked on linux, that was Humble Indie Bundle 1, and I didn't create a Steam account until around HiB 5 or something when the beta for linux client was released.

Found out about them because of the SG forum. My first might have been an Indiegala bundle with Subject 9 and The Desolate Hope among some others.

I first found out on slashdot.org after HB1 ended. IIRC there was a massive discussion about it, especially after most of the companies released the source code for the games in that bundle.
