Poor thing. Haven't played it in a long time, but weren't there like only five campaigns? If so that's not a lot of history.

Wait, you mean there's history outside of William Wallace, Genghis Khan, Saladin, Barbarossa and Joan of Arc?

Age of Empires?
Maybe Civilization, I saw some information about history in the help place whatever it's called. I actually write Civ 5 down on my study log xD

Need a historically accurate game? Why not Gettysburg?
And yes, I'm joking xD

I think many Paradox's games will suit your need. Civilization V is also a good source to learn, you can find many info in their encyclopedia

Bascially everything from Paradox: Crusader Kings II or Europa Universalis III for middle ages, but also Hearts of Iron I-III which covers World War II. There are loads more.
Also, Age of Empires II and the Total War games.

Magicka was only published by Paradox, but developed by Arrowhead Game Studios.

Call of Duty 2,Call Of Duty World at War. Most shooting games are set with settings of WW or WW2, so you can find many details of history in them. Also you could try playing strategic games like AoM in which you can learn about ancient civilizations, their Gods and culture. But I can tell that with games you will learn only some details of history and it could even mess up your own knowledge. So I would recommend watching some movies or reading a book instead.

Assassins Creed 3 - Boston Tea Party was almost accurate to do the original. In my school we were on that lesson and i got A mark because of playing the game :D

Depends a bit on what you are looking for. But here are a few recommendations:
-The Paradox grand strategy games. All of them! These are incredibly detailed and accurate in most regards.
-Birth of America. Complex strategy game focused on the american war of independence & the French/Indian war.
-IL-2 Sturmovik. Historically accurate aircrafts
-Civilization-series. While the events are not all that historically accurate (the Vikings did in fact NOT build the great wall), the Civilopedia is for the most part accurate.
-Sid Meier's Gettysburg
-Great Invasions: The Darkages "350-1066 AD"
-The Combat Mission series.
In fact, take a look here: http://www.matrixgames.com/ Plenty of historically accurate game on that site.

I just wanted to know which games do you recommend for liable learning history? Genre doesn't matter, but it's always more fun to watch from bird perspective on creation of countries and read interesting things, virtually attend to events which occured in the past than running with M69 killing Nazis? Which games you would recommend to me having in mind that I want to learn about actual events that had place?
I rather prefer following whole world time line than focusing on focusing on events from year 1960+
