Like Father, Like Son (2013).

Director's most known movie is probably Nobody Knows (2004), which is great.

No, I'm pretty sure his most well known movie was Shoplifters (2018), considering that one was even nominated for an Oscar. Great movie. And while I haven't watched any of his other movies, some of them are already on my watchlist. Welcome to my WL.

oh yes! It was really good. If you are into neo western crime films you should check it out. Although few scenes are pretty disturbing and difficult to sit through. Jeremy Renner gave his finest performance.

dungeons and dragons: honour among thieves .
watched it after completing Balders gate 3 about 2 weeks ago. liked guessing the classes though a bit disappointed the wild magic user didnt accidently throw a fireball at the ground but i suppose that could of just ended up killing everyone in the party so i understand why they chose a different effect for the film

The last movie we've seen was new Barbie, but we were so disappointed.. we really didn't understand why this movie has so high rating, but whatever.
The movie before that was Guardian of Galaxy 3, it was much nicer and funnier (the second movie is still the best in the series though)
But if I would talk about the last movie I enjoyed, it would be John Wick 4 (I resisted to watch the whole series before, but my partners insisted that I have to watch it and well, I must admit, as a Ukrainian girl, it is kinda fun to watch how he's killing hundreds of ru-speaking people. can't help myself.
I still have Oppenheimer in my backlog and I really have a lot of hope. Also, I really want to watch Triangle of Sadness, I already know that I'm gonna enjoy it, but we didn't have time for it yet..

Also, I'm more a series person (and it's easier with kids, because it's always annoying to pause the movie all the time or split it for 2-3 evenings...)

I mean Barbie is a really good satire, so I do understand why it's rated as highly as it is. GotG3 was a lot of fun, too. Haven't seen John Wick 4 yet, but if you put it like you did, might still be worth checking out. Slava Ukraini! Oppenheimer was really good, but maybe less action than you might think. Triangle of Sadness was amazing, though. Definitely try to find the time for it, you won't regret it. Welcome to my WL.

Oh, I never expect much action from Nolan, I’m also not a big fan of action movies (that was also a reason why I didn’t want to watch John Wick in a first place), I usually prefer something aesthetically beautiful or interesting movie production. For example, one of the old Ukrainian movies made in USSR had such a big impact on movie industry, that even now biggest Hollywood directors mention it and make references in their movies. That’s what I appreciate, that what I look for in movies.
Lately, unfortunately we have energy only for some fast food movies, which are okay when you need just to relax, but yeah, I think I just expected something different from Barbie movie, it’s beautiful yes and Ken’s storyline was even more interesting than Barbie’s, but still.

One of my favourite movies for example is Her (2013), I think it’s one of the most beautiful movies I’ve seen, it’s also cozy, but very heartbreaking at the same time.

Omg, I think you opened my old wound, I can talk about movies in hours and I haven’t done it in ages.. 🙈 let me know if going too far 😅

Man with a Movie Camera (1929) is amazing, probably not the one you're referencing, though. Her (2013) is beautiful, you're right. Feels like we're going into that direction IRL now, with all the AI chatbots and that stuff.

You can never talk about movies too much with me. :D

Thank yoy very much, It's my pleasure! Also just gotta say the movie wasn't "good" in a general sense, But it had a certain charm to it, I'd say it's kind of like "Alita Battle Angel" in a sense that I absolutely loved it (and so many others) but the critics and scores were slightly harsh.

After watching the last episodes of Star Trek The Next Generation, I wanted to watch the movies from that time period starting with the confusingly named Star Trek Generations... but my connection cut out after the first quarter so I'm waiting for the weekend to start from the beginning

The last movie I fully watched is a bit too long ago for me to remember, I'm more into series at the moment I guess

It's very self-centered, but in a good way. I mean it's Steven Spielberg making a movie about himself, even if that might not have been the full intention, he definitely put a lot of himself into it. What did you think about it? Welcome to my WL.

He's one of my favourite anime directors, and probably one of my favourite directors in general. Made a lot of stuff that really informed my taste as it is now (Ping Pong, Devilman Crybaby, etc.), so it was cool to see him in person. I actually missed a Q&A he did the day before because my sister was visiting and I just...didn't know he was gonna show up at all, but I was told it was lackluster because it was only one hour and kind of unorganized.

And thanks for adding me, I'll add you to mine haha

Cure (1997).

Very unsettling detective vs serial killer thriller, ending left a lot of ambiguity but enjoyed the stellar acting throughout the movie. Kurosawa's direction throughout the movie is very obvious and adds to the unnerving tension in how everyday objects are seen through his lens.

Thanks, not sure because the less you know the better with his movies but outside of horror, Tokyo Sonata definitely (though it might be too artsy for some). Within, maybe Retribution and Pulse. Not sure you'll like his more niche movies but Serpent's Path and Eyes of the Spider are pretty solid too (watch them as a double viewing IMO).
