Why if you like people of the same sex you get an entire month? Why not a day like everyone else? Military vets don't even get as many days as someone who just happens to like someone of the same sex

If anyone likes to read books when they're not gaming, there's an LGBT+ Fantasy Bundle available on StoryBundle: https://storybundle.com/pride

Oddly enough, that bundle does in fact include one Steam game.

Though it's still just reading.

There are still many people out there that don't think they are homophobic but do criticise LGBTQ+ initiatives.
And it is a little bit understandable.
Why?
Well, think of it as sibling rivalry.
You like your brother or sister, but when you think they are getting more attention than you, you get angry.
If they are indeed getting more attention or not, or if there is a valid reason for it, it doesn't matter. The perceived inequality creates a reality for that person, and they lash out. It's the world up-side-down, but it happens, and there are not always evil intentions behind it, it's just psychology.

Interesting viewpoint.
While I don't completely agree with it, I do see where you're coming from and why you've reached this conclusion.
Personally, to me, criticizing LGBTQ+ initiatives is never homophobia. If that criticism turns into hate however, then there's a problem. You've described jealousy here, but I personally doubt that most people actually want that spotlight on themselves, but rather they don't want that spotlight there at all. To a certain extent I don't think it helps at all in western countries. All it does it make the LGBT crowd say "Oh, okay, it's that month again rainbow emoji/gif/picture", which doesn't help anything. But it does also fuel hatred and since the hate is in the minority, it'll fuel that subgroup of people. And in the end, all that happens is that there's another person who gets annoyed by the needless spotlight while also being diagnosed/hated on for throwing some actual criticism out, which, odds are, will spawn another person that doesn't want to support the cause.
I genuinely believe that the LGBTQ+ crowd needs to stop patting themselves on the back and instead rally themselves to support others. Take for example a person that you know from work or school. Now imagine if he every couple of weeks just flips a switch and basically just starts congratulating himself and his family for being amazing and happy and who expects others to support him too. Once, twice, even three or four times it's totally fine. People need to take a moment and appreciate themselves to boost their self-confidence. But you start losing that praise over time. People get bored, annoyed and overall it feels tedious at some point. Now, if that kid went around and instead started helping others during that time, he'd start getting a new reputation, a reputation where he is known as a genuinely awesome person who's selfless and nice.
That's my take on it at least. I'm not trying to claim that there's no reason to have these "Pride events" and so on. Just saying that if this is truly created for public awareness, then nothing drives neutral parties away more than self-congratulatory tactics.

I noticed I got a brand new blacklist a few days ago. My only activity that day was posting a GA here. So now I have to post another GA, those are the rules, right? ^^

It's pretty big in Chicago. I went there once and it was a memorable weekend!
I wish I was in Toronto for Pride weekend. They always have great concerts and events at bars.
Paris is not that fun for Pride, tbh. It's ok but it's nothing special.

I was checking out the events scheduled for Chicago, and while I'm not familiar with many of the acts, I'll definitely be checking some out.
All my college buddies live in the area, so I'll be dragging a few of them downtown with me (and I'll end up the designated driver).

Definitely looks like it'll be a blast. :D

Haha nothing better than to drag friends around with you on Pride festivities :D
Chicago's looking great. Toronto is where I wish I was because I have friends there and they always have various events. They even have one at the Aquarium this year!

It's this time of year again!
June marks the LGBTQ+ Pride Month all over the world. Many LGBTQ+ people wait all year for this one month, the streets get painted with rainbows, motivational queer and trans speakers share their stories, and we are all reminded how far we've come for LGBTQ+rights and how much more we have to fight to be treated fairly. =3
