You're sitting there, playing that CoD game you just won from me, smacktalking your opponents, and their mothers, and feeling all macho. And then a wasp enters your room. What do you do?

A wasp enters your room, what do you do?

View Results
Scream and flail my arms wildly
Freeze. If I don't move it can't see me. Right?
Leave the room. Hopefully it will find its way out soon. An hour should be enough.
Grab the vacuum cleaner. I'll get the little devil!
Start throwing books at it from the other side of the room. Who cares about collateral damage, that thing needs to die!
Quickly hide under the nearest blanket and stay there for the rest of the day

Grab it from its wings and throw it outside, and hope it doesn't bring its friends.

I may be allergic (my uncle/sister are and the doctors said there is a chance me or my other sister also are allergic) so I'd probably leave the room and ask someone else to kindly deal with it.

"Freeze. If I don't move it can't see me. Right?"

...Is pretty accurate lol. Either that or screaming and running under my duvet. :]

I got stung on a wrist by a yellow jacket wasp 2 months ago. My forearm swelled up to almost Popeye the sailor proportions. The itch was also unbearable too.

Ignore it, ofc. Wasps don't attack if they can just fly away,

I'd give it a fair chance to get out the way it came, if it does not seize this opportunity I'd be forced to end it's existence.

kill it before one of the cats does something stupid like try and eat the thing.

Thanks Fnord! I would try to encourage it to find it's way out of the window

If it's flying around me... THEN PANIC AND TRY TO GET SOME DISTANCE, AAAAAAAH!!!

If it has landed or isn't anywhere near me then try to keep calm and immediately sink into my shirt to it can't get to the neck (I have... experience with wasps going for the neck, THEY'RE MONSTERS I TELL YA!). Then depends:
1) If it's still light outside open the window wide and turn off all the lights so that maybe it'd go out on it's own. If not go to step 2).
2) Wait until it lands somewhere AND CRUSH THE LITTLE BASTARD WITH A HARD OBJECT! I DON"T CARE WHAT, IT HAS TO DIE! (I have a can from Pringles crisps in my room just for that occasion.)
3) If this isn't actually my room then finish what I had to do and get the hell out of there.

I actually did get a wasp in my room once. Used option 2). And there were apparently two wasp nests somewhere around my accommodation for 2 years so until the winter came I'd get a wasp in the kitchen every 3-rd night or so (it would always be dead on its own by the morning)... it was terrifying. T.T
