Hey guys.

Not much of a talker here but I wanted to try sharing maybe some interesting ideas. What has life taught you ?

Mine is : Trust Yourself (not very original but it's something that can take a lifetime to believe in)

Don't care about what others think of you (especially on the internet). If you feel comfortable, why let others change you?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah and most especially on the internet because people there have no idea who you really are

I'd say, learn when to consider what others think and when not to. It's not easy, but it's what will make you better.

Well, obviously you should listen to what people have to say and maybe take action when you think it's necessary. There's a difference between not caring what people think about you and not listening to what people have to say.

Comment has been collapsed.

Mostly a semantic difference, I'd say. If you listen, you will care. If you don't care, it means you're ignoring what's being said. If by 'caring' you mean not getting very angry or very upset, then that's good advice, but sometimes you can get upset, get over it, and realise you were at fault.

"Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. Weak men create hard times."
Stereotypes might be more mono than you'd like them to be. > People like to be around their own kind.
Knowledge is pure, its purpose is not. > You can't sum knawlidge up in one sentence ...

  • Find beauty in everything, it makes live so much better when you concentrate on the positive things!
  • Your true friends will support you and believe in you, even if you can't believe in yourself.
  • Hating someone doesn't make their live worse, it hurts only yourself.
  • Don't judge a book by its cover, or people by their appearance.
  • Never stop learning and questioning the world around you.
  • You might be faster if you are rude, or use your elbows to get past others, but if you smile, a lot of them will magically make way for you and while your journey takes longer, you'll end up with a lot of good memories!
  • Never stick to false friends, or bad people just because you're afraid of being alone! If they treat you bad, they're not worth your time and affection!

I think that you can learn quite a bit from the cover of a book or the way people look. It can be misleading, but more often than not it says something about them.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Agreed. Obviously you can't learn everything about a person by their looks, but you can often get a general idea of what they're like. And not just the looks, also by the way people walk and behave.

Only because you're convincing you so, you might have to go through fucking hell, get lost a thousand time but there's always a way out

There's alway something you can do. Sometimes it may not be obvious what it might be, but there is always something. (okay, maybe some extreme situations are an exception (like getting kidnapped or something)

Not all situations have identical or simple solutions, but sometimes we don't even realize that we have the choice to change our lives. The biggest and the most difficult step is the realization of this.

Part of my issue lies with the fact I don't "exist" according to the system.
I've never believed in debt or credit cards so that makes finding a job damn difficult when they can't find a paper trail on me.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Make that paper trail created or find something you're good at and start a little business, you gotta look for solutions instead of dwelling on the problem mate

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's a cycle that can't be broken for various reasons. I won't go into it here but in my situation there really is no way out.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It looks like part of the problem is your belief. If your main worry is debt, that has little to do with creating a paper trail. So if that's indeed the problem, the solution is in your hands.

I know people can be abusive but I find it hard to believe concerning litteraly everyone you know... Being mean to a good person just don't make any sense, unless you're unconsciously attracted to that only type of person and manage to be with no one else, it might be your perception/sensitivity that makes you believe that...

One thing I'm sure of is that there's people out there who deserve you to make them happy and who will make you happy in return

so you're saying you're actively trying to make ppl unhappy so they wouldn't be able to mess with your life, and instead they'd have to focus on removing the misery you've unleashed upon them? is that it?

You may be unlucky. Either that or you're doing something wrong. Or possible you're interpreting things wrongly.

I'd say that in general trying to make others happy normally rewards you with the knowledge that they are happy. (That's assuming you succeed.) They may be grateful, but you normally won't get any reward from that.

Beyond that, it really depends on what you're doing. There's a place where 'making them happy' turns to pampering, and that's not really healthy.

Parents can choose their children but children can't choose their parents.
Let's just say I've had a complicated life and leave it at that.

Parent can't really choose their children, they can choose to have one but unless they cage and brainwash him, the worse they can do is offering a bad start in life. The strongest men went through the hardest challenges

Comment has been collapsed.

Parents do choose their children. If you neglect your children, treat them like absolute shit, no encouragement whatsoever, try to force them to be something they are not, etc. you are damning them for the rest of their lives.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That's not 'choosing the children'. Sure what you do affects your children, but parents don't fully control how the child turns out.

Parents can choose their children if they're adopted. :)

Becoming a parent is like putting your hand in a huge bag of seeds and randomly choosing one.
Let's say the seed turned into a lemon tree, but you always wanted to have an apple tree.
You are going to treat it like an apple tree, fertilize it, water it and crop it in the same way that an apple tree would need to.
At the end of day you are going to create a failed apple tree, while you could have created a successful lemon tree.

  • Question everything, doubt everyone and examine everything by yourself.
  • Do not let your luck depend on anyone else except you.
  • Think, analyze, but not overthink and overanalyze.

I do not know if I translated it properly, but these are my little rules, Especially because I used to overthink, overanalyze and overlove, what caused depression and anxiety. My experience with trusting people left me with habit to doubting, questioning everything what people say and do. (Except scientific things of course).

edit: almost forgot:

  • life goes on, no matter what, so do not look back, because not everything is loop.

Relying to that. If only turning your brain off was as easy as talking about it... Also sometimes, you better not even start thinking and just go take action (we're talking about safe situation here ofc), because as soon as you let it doubt, your brain can litteraly freeze you.

How about learning that if you never give up, you end up succeeding ?

That's not really true, sometimes you just can't do something no matter how hard you try or how long you work at it.. Learning that you aren't suited for something is not a bad thing.
