The past is in the past and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it, so there is no point stressing about it, but it is still useful to use past experience to better yourself.
don't be afraid of saying whatever you want, be open, be yourself cause the real you is the best you.
And a personal thing I've lived by since forever "start with the worst first then the best last", i always use this logic with food eating the green beans first before the delicious meat ect.(best aftertaste).
This also means no matter where you are in the life, no matter the shit you've had to deal with, if you end up in a good place then it was all worth it.

Hm...I'll do my top 3 in order.
Life has taught me you need to do all 3 of these in order to stay happy. The time that I manage all 3 is the only time that I ever find myself really being happy. If I lack one (the third one is the hardest for me) I find I always have something to be stressed about, upset about, or just something keeping me from being happy. And I think that's what makes life worth living. Being happy.

Funny you mention women in first. It means if you only had the energy to follow one, you would follow this one ?
I like it because I could totally have written that but with mistrust in first, I wonder if you feel a genuine happiness or if you're more like trying to convince yourself you are.

If I only had the energy to follow it would be hard to pick between #1 and #2. I suppose #2 would override not following #1 just by the basis of it, but it is a hard choice.
And in my opinion the happiness I experience while managing all 3 of these things is more of a content lack of any problems. It is not a head over heels fantasy-like happiness, but a "Life is good" happiness where I am content to just be as I am without any complaints.

I see. And what did you achieve when you had the discipline/commitment to do all 3 if I may ask ?
Because, 1 & 2 are your rules to maintains your happiness but even if you're only motivated by the process, the 3rd one implies an objective and probably a result. And whether that result is positive or negative it has impact on you.
For me, a failure generate anger, which brings me energy to try again until I succeed. On the other hand, success tends to make me happy but also lazy and not willing to try again and take the risk to fail and go back to an angry state. That's why I'm questionning your different choices list but maybe I'm getting into an unnecessary complication as my mind always do...

No number 3 is more general than that, because there's a lot of things you have to do in life like work or schooling that take a lot of effort you generally don't want to give. That's what it means. To always try in that instead of decide to do nothing, since doing nothing will create stress on its own accord with no way to fix it other than actually trying.

Life is pain, anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to sell you something.

Pessimists are never disappointed.
If I assume the worst, and I'm right then yay me, I called it. If I'm wrong, and something is better than expected, then yay me, it's not as bad as I had imagined.

Never completely trust or rely on anyone, because in the end you'll be alone anyway, and they're not there for you if they don't find your presence beneficial anymore.
It may sound like some kind of negative/bitter way to live, but quite the contrary, actually. It has taught me to love and take care of myself, because I know I'm the only one who can and will do that till the end.
Another one: don't chase people who don't like you as much as you like them, there's plenty of fish in the sea, and they're not special enough to be worth the constant shitty feeling this will bring you.

like i always say:
to thine own self be true.
and
[God, ]grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.
while i am no fan of the god reference there's certainly a lot of depth to that.
it's imperative to know if and what you can change if you're not satisfied with a situation. if the root of the problem is beyond your reach then it's always an absolutely pointless waste of time and effort to get upset and try to fight it over and over again. use your time and power wisely.

Hey guys.
Not much of a talker here but I wanted to try sharing maybe some interesting ideas. What has life taught you ?
Mine is : Trust Yourself (not very original but it's something that can take a lifetime to believe in)
